For me it's not even rage, just sadness. I love this game, but aside from the game itself, what I love most is playing with my friends. If I can't do that, there's no big draw for me. We'll move onto something else.
United we stand. Divided we fall.
I've played this game for 3 years now. Im playing since August 2009, the day after i upgraded my old computer, the first game I instaled was HoN. Closed Beta times, no MMR, on Alt Avatars, just joinining a game and have fun.
This game has mutated along the road, also the comunitty, but especially the management. From some point until now I've seen how the first game i installed on my computer become a shadow of what it was. The comunity is in this moment worst than ever, trolling is raising a lot more faster than actually players, S2 counts the "unique logins" but they doesnt check how many accounts actually play the game and makes statements like the "vote-kick" issue.
Anyway, none of the previous issues was really a breakibng point until now. This ip-block is the last thing i would expected to hear from S2. I've made a lot of friends in this game, most of them from the US since i play on USE, i wont be able to play with those guys anymore. When HoN went retail 2 years ago, there was this private server, it was terrible, great pings, but player level was awful and games were boring. I used to create new accounts to play the 10-trial games that you were allowed before buying it. But this, Im done with this game, im gonna enjoy the last few weeks of decent games and the maybe ill sell my account and move on.
Good bye HoN.
I'm so exciting to play LA servers with 400ms+
That's what it is going to be.
It's kinda funny how the world is moving to a place where you can reach anyone in any place of the world quickly and easily. And you're moving to the other side, trying to go back to an era without the Internet where you could only interact with people on your area.
Defu$# is wrong with you.
I honestly just don't see the issue with providing amazing local servers in various regions, but leaving the choice up to the player where they want to play. If the servers in your local region actually provide a lower ping, PEOPLE WILL CHOOSE TO PLAY ON THOSE SERVERS. You don't have to force them to. I live in Los Angeles, I only play on USWest. I get 150+ ping on USEast servers, which is too high for my liking. See how it works. You don't have to force it.
United we stand. Divided we fall.
Jesus I even got a international credit card to buy coins here and now S2 give me IP block, what a company... You guys really deserve a bankrupt.
I don't see why S2 has to create a 100% ip block - you should definitely think about creating the potential or possibility for players in any area of the world to play on the server they choose.
I'm no business major, but I have a good idea on how this may be implemented. Seeing from this thread how many LA players are complaining that there's going to be a bunch of new and bad 10 year olds running the new LA servers, why not create an option for players that have been playing prior to this change that would allow them to play on US and EU servers?
OR...
since we all know that you (S2) is so much more about the money than the wishes of the community, i have a second idea that could work to fulfill both needs (in principal). Allow Korean and LA users to pay a premium one-time payment that would allow them to play in any server. This would also cut off the new 10 year olds from playing with you, as they dont have credit cards (as mentioned by some user before).
YAY or NAY?!?
Just place South American servers, and thats it. FFS who is the person behind this madness?![]()
Guy, i understand that this would obviously not be ideal. But seeing as how this change seems inevitable, that may be the only option.
If S2 is really intent on going along with this complete ip lock, then players that really want to stick with the game, regardless of the change, should be given an option. i'm so sure that many people in korea and LA would be willing to pay a little (hopefully not more than 10 or so) for this.
so okay guy, i know you probably wouldnt want to. but there are plenty that probably would. im just offering a suggestion. this change does not in any way affect me, other than not being able to play with some close friends that are residing in korea at the moment.
i fail to understand one thing
how this is for the best? or to expand the comunity.
If this happens, not only me but a LOT of people will quit playin and move on to dota 2 , diablo 3, basically any game that allows me to play with a friend from another continent.
New gamers? how ? they're not playin right now so how is that changin with ip block?
Its not even worth it, you wont make profit from this thats for sure.

Good to see that S2 is expanding its footprint for its community! Best of luck for both regions!
I am from Brazil, and this hon-iversary will be the worse. i've playing it since it began, and now i won't be able to play with my US mates.
"Once the game is fully released and no longer in beta, players in Latin America and Korea will no longer be able to play HoN on North American/European Union Servers. The transfer program will allow them to continue playing HoN by transferring all of their prior purchases and account credentials to local servers in their region."
really? so, why can't I choose? I can say 90% in english, as you can see, it is pretty good. create south america regions to choose! God dammit... i hate playing with brazillians. RACISTSSSSSS -----joke
cmon man! some months from now it will release a new hero on US 5 months ealier than in brazil. It will have a SUPER-DELAY, i bet. if you're doing this, do it correctly and don't ruin the best game I ever played, PLEASE.
option. is it democracy ? I wan't better ping. I don't want to play with brazillians but my friends. I wan't to be able to play with my US/EU friends. I wan't you to LISTEN your community. I wan't people to understand that 80% of brazil doesn't speak english but there is 20% THAT DOES. I wan't South American servers, and a option to thumb up it or not. I guess all of us (brazil) want it. and please, if you wan't to make more money doing that, (yes ur probably wanting to do it) CREATE CUSTOM MAPS ON PUBLIC GAMES CATEGORY! can't you see that 90% of players on garena that play custom maps (RPGs) on warcraft III would move to HoN in at least 1 year? that is OLD. do something new. what did you do? created HoN because of DotA. CREATE RPGs BECAUSE OF WARCRAFT! All the comunity wants it. DO IT!
:B
I often play with South American friends (from further than Mexico) who complain about constant high pings. While they are split on the issue of whether they like the change or not, they all agree it will be nice to not have a low ping of 300 and a regular high ping of around 500-700. It will be sad to see them go, and I'm sure they will miss their friends in other zones, but I'm hoping the regional support and more focused localization will make up for it.
EDIT: Before anyone misunderstands anything, I don't work for S2, I'm a player like everyone else. I volunteer my time to help out, this is *MY* opinion, not that of a company or organization. And yes, I realize that Mexico is a part of North America, I added the part in parentheses right before I hit post, thinking to assuage the arguments of those in Mexico without realizing I wrote South American instead of Latin American. If we're going to have a mature discussion, it's best to stick to facts and not argue semantics since it's so easy to type something by accident when you're going back and changing things you wrote.

Axeso5 is not good, tested it out..... you will no longer play hon... you'll play something else, not good :C
Those in favor: "Lol awesome, no more idiot/illiterate/noob Brazillians, thank you so much!"
Those opposed: "I can't play with my friends anymore..."
And you wonder why HoN's community is considered dreadful. You're constantly making changes to appeal to the wrong people, resulting in them staying and your good customers leaving. I live in Europe, so this change doesn't even affect me at all, but it doesn't seem the slightest bit logical or necessary to me.
