If it ends up being like the SEA servers, NA players will still be able to play on the new servers (visa-versa i think as well), but they will need to install a client and new account for each region.

I'm highly disappointed with this decision, I'm a peruvian guy who has played this game since the very beginning.... now lets remember those awesome days back in closed beta, just a bunch of ppl discovering the game which in my personal opinion was pretty good.. heroes based on DOTA ones plus much better graphics. A few matches a day, a lot of fun ...there were no silver or gold coins and we were told the game was worth 30$ . Eventually open beta came out, more ppl joined and we just had a good time the game was making progress, there was a stats reset but it was all good. After several months I decided as many other players to pay the 30 bucks for the game which I HAD NOT REGRETTED till a month ago , when I was told about axeso5.com
FINALLY the game was out with new stuff, heroes based on dota stopped coming out, which was good eventually that was going to happen. It was a good hook for the players who were looking for a game just like DOTA. After that gold coins came out, which was understandable and fair enough. THEN the worse nightmare for the HON PLAYERS happened : HON became F2P : ohgodwhy: by doing this u doomed the game IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, why ? ... because thx to that all the BRs 'infested' the game, and some other trolls(yea kids who couldnt afford the game before joined to ruin our community). NOW to make my point clear I AM NOT A RACIST or anything related. I've had words WITH BRS before , as a gamer u will have to deal with them from the very beginning. SO my conclusion is that they r the way they r .... yea most of them can be annoying and ruin ur game for sure, BUT the very truth is most of Brazil gaming population r just kids. THEREFORE, u just oppened the HON HOUSE to a bunch of annoying kids to play with us. ENOUGH of BRS talk. LETS NOW take a look to the rest of troll: THE REST OF THE WORLD. IT amazes me how much changed after HON became free. SMURF started to appear, people started behaving like idiots due to coins, stats, nationality and other issues AS U ALL KNOW.
DESPITE ALL THIS CAOS , I continued playing cuz I loved the game MAINLY for two reasons: LEGACY ACC( the excuse to make ppl who had paid for the game before stay) and the other reason is because it was free i could get more friends to play HON since they couldnt afford it before.
EVENTUALLY the HON comunity grew larger but full of griefers.... it became like a habbit....THAT SOME OF US HAD TO DEAL WITH while others JUST JOINED the trolling.
NOWADAYS in EVERY match u play , u know u r going to deal with at least 1 troll in ur team AT LEAST 1. Haters appeared, blaming 'mexicans' , BRS and RUSIANS too.
IN THE END the result seems to be THIS. Which I as a faithful player since CLOSED BETA , Disapprove. I DO understand that HON needs to grow and improve , I DO understand s2 needs to expand the game in global Scale, but right now after I read this thread 'THE FUTURE OF HON in LA and Korea' i can say im pretty much quitting the next second after I get excluded from playing within US and EU servers. AS OTHERS said, I wont be able to play with my foreign friends anymore. To conclude, I must say I always wanted HON tournaments and League in LA or better, but this? At what cost ? WHO r u been listening to S2 ? the haters only ? the decent players ? wut kind of feedback u got from players
that u decided to do this ? ... WELL thats all my opinion. ENJOY the decadence.

Cannot WAIT. This is going to be amazing. I know it wont be like it was in the pre-free to play days.. but it will be much better, and that's something I don't think any legacy account owner can deny.

PS. Since Korea for a cool avatar for their release, what can we expect from the LA crowd? Possibly a "troll" avatar for devourer that speaks jibberish while its "feeding" in his ult?

I haven't seen many Brazilians QQing in this thread, most of the butthur comes from peru and argentina and chile and people from spanish speaking countries
Besides, both Spanish speaking and Brazilians will be on the same server, playing against each other

MAKE IT HAPPEND, GIVE US A DATE, I am from Argentina and i would love to kick brazileans asses lol, i played a 3 vs 3 match whit my brother and some random dude against a Brazilean team they were lvl 20 21 24L and we were 9 8 14. they have played like 10 times more matches that we did and we beat them incredible easly.
Is this proyect still in progress, i would like it to be optional anyway :/
Come on! just release it, ill will make my premade, i don`t give a **** about Trolls. i love how some brazileans think they are great gamers, but Argentina will prevail in the latin servers.
I am tired of the stupid lag and disconection, some time i get huge conection problems whit the US servers.

chances are if you take the time to get a local proxy you're not one of the ones theyre trying to block. that or trolling is your only intention. proxies are usually more laggy than directly connecting.
man, is this for real? i´ve played hon since beta, tried other games, got entertained for about a month or two, but i always return to hon cuz its the only one thats never gets boring, and it should be like this for me forever... but with these changes... my work schedule is chaotic, sometimes i log on to the game and enter the brazil chat, that usually has 200+ ppl, and theres like only 15, most afk that left the game open, so when i want to play at this hours, i wont be able cuz there won´t be any1 online? is that it? im gonna have to give up on HoN like i gave up on a lot of other games for a lot less?
any news? why just leave the option for the legacy accs?
So with the announcement that Korea is no longer region locked, does this mean Brazil will never be?

Agreed; S2, this sucks. Please, if you decide on a plan, then at least have the balls to go through with it! Valve decided to leave Russians free to join other servers if they wish instead of playing on their designated servers; the result was that even more Russians played on the EU servers out of spite. If you do this for LA and Korea, then do it for the CIS players as well and bear the consequences; or man the hell up and do what is necessary for a better gaming expirience! Dont go half-ass on something in between just becouse Valve didn't lock regions yet. Sincerely.

Why can't S2 make servers like they have done with US east, US west, Europe and now Australia? What's the problem with that?
I think the...
"I'm a Br and I hate playing with Br's" speech that has been spewed around here every other post speaks for it self in so many ways. You are comfirming and validating their is a huge issue with the BR/south american community and how it affects North American players.
My solution would would be to keep the player based merged(same server). But, create a algorithm in matchmaking that seperates these regions from each other, unless they are grouped together in the same group. This way, solo queres don't have to play with or put up with BR's/South Americans, but clans won't be effected and groups of players from different regions queing together won't be affected either. I think this is a nice compromise.
I dont have anything against latin americans (Not anymore). Cause i found this usefull function that make me able to block team chat if nessesary.
Anyway considering hon is facing hard competetion and has a rather low player base compared to the other games. I am happy they do this since it will attract new players. And new players means the game will grow faster. Even though you are seperated by regions i believe the game can spread accross countries this way and later attract more players in other regions.
Want to add, mostly other games are seperated by regions to. Asia , Europe , North america and latin america. It is quite common really and i dont blame them because the people really are very different.
