I'm also want the community to expand, but i'm not sure if this is the right direction, specialy in LA.
Sure, that's a valid concern. I guess my response to that would be this: if Axeso is unable to provide quality servers (and therefore a quality experience), the playerbase shouldn't increase enough to justify the change. As such, this would force them to a) fix it and drive expansion as planned or b) don't fix it and face losing the license/client.

I don't think anyone has disputed S2s (legitimate) goal of wanting to expand HoNs playerbase, especially in these regions. If this change doesn't end up being the recipe for success, allow them the opportunity to course-correct as needed.

XanderK, please explain to me why am I being forced to play in PORTUGESE speaking servers?
You do realize that Brazil does not belong to Latin America, right?
I will continue speaking in english in these servers because- in case you didnt realize yet-portuguese and spanish are not the same language, not even close...

Also (as everyone who experienced Axeso servers before) they have terrible service and worst lag than to the US, so please explain to me why is this better for us outside Brazil...

I've been around since closed beta and even if you dont give a rats ass I would like to keep playing under the same conditions. I dont have any problems with the "Latin American" (sight) servers, just give me a choice!

With players having the option to choose, 2 things may happen:

1- The experience in the new servers is great! Everyone will keep playing in "LA" servers!
2- These servers sucks, but at least I can play as always in US servers.

I cant see why this cant be done.

Or at least be honest, and just say that this is a great deal for S2, and by contract you have to IP block so that Axeso can have their share.

Please give us an honest answer without the PR bs : )

I feel you, I'm about to lose access to playing with my own brother (HoN is one of the few ways we really stay connected). Hopefully his (and others') access to an expanded local gaming community will outweigh this in the end.

You (as one customer), and your level of satisfaction, is important -- it's just not important enough to justify not moving forward with this change. I hate to say it that way, but it's true.
So why are we forced to move and not give the chance to stay? So why are the english latin american speakers have to leave? (because this is what its happening, you are kicking us from what we have a right to be in)

I am the person that likes everything on their original state, either if its a movie, song or a game. Have you ever watched a foreign film you love translated to your language? Have you ever heard a song translated to your language? Its horrible, it loses all the sense and it makes it a horrible experience.
Now because just a little bunch of guys who dont know english im supposed to play in spanish servers? with spanish menus, chat messages? etc...

Also, I wouldnt be so pissed if Axeso5 wasnt the garbage they really are.

I'm confident that, as mentioned above, there are contractual obligations that require IP blocking to ensure axeso has access to the playerbase they are responsible for supporting.

    From the OP:
Gamers in both regions will still be able to play the game using an English language option if they choose to do so.

Also, I wouldnt be so pissed if Axeso5 wasnt the garbage they really are.
    >>
If they are "garbage" then this parternship won't last, right? So nothing to really worry about longterm.
    Responses in quote.

with this change..bye bye HoN =(

    really bad move =S

  7. #227
Wow. No answers so far. Lame.

  8. #228
Bye bye brazil! Too bad, its blacksmith!

  9. #229
This is not fair, in dota 2 you can choose the server u want to play, they dont ip block you, ofc brazillians servers suck and i have 400ms and im afraid that will be the same here, only that we will be forced to play in those servers.
The other problem is the language, Latin America =/= brazil, we DO NOT speak the same language.

This is a really bad move if the ip block us, i dont really care if they add brazilian servers, thats cool but pls dont ip block

so, if in the long run we are few who want to keep playing in US servers, why not allow it? you and I already know the answer though.

even if it didnt work, it could be a year until things get back to normal. In the meantime ppl like me are screwed.

I feel you, I'm about to lose access to playing with my own brother (HoN is one of the few ways we really stay connected). Hopefully his (and others') access to an expanded local gaming community will outweigh this in the end.
Is he a professional gamer? cause if not I dont get it.
If I where your brother I would prefer playing with you rather than having an "expanded local gaming community".

I dont have a problem with LA servers, but give us the option where to play :/

Also is xanderk going to answer some of these questions, or is he into smurfing like everybody in HON these days?

  11. #231
For those that don't realize it yet, If you don't lock the servers the Brazilians (atleast the ones complaining before they even tested out the beta and its ping) will continue to come to the US servers and will play there instead and having random Spanish and Portuguese players will still occur.

TLR If there is a server option choice no doubt the Brazilians are gonna keep the US servers on up

    Petition Hon Splitting up

As most of guy know hon is splitting up their server for Latin America and Korea.
    http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/sh...d.php?t=405944

Im very Disappointing of Hon for doing this, Most of you people may think oh that great, Brazilian player are leaving...OH YAAAAAA. Well one of the main reason i like Hon better then LoL is that it a world game, i get to play with people from different country while LoL is mainly Focus on North America.

And People from Latin America and Korea wont be able to play on this S2 server, Which Mean they are Block from logging into this server.

So for the people who is still playing on this server:

More Que Time since alot of people are moving to the new server. (FK LONGER WAITING TIME)
Wont be able to play Against those really pro people in Korea ^^
    Less people online

Here is what I think Hon Should have done: Add An South America and Aisa Server on the matchmaking List along with West and East america and Europe. Who agree?

LA playerbase increases when you create BRAZILIAN ONLY servers, when you create Latin America Servers, you mix Brazilian Portuguese with Spanish and this goes worse than Brazilian Portuguese and English.

If you're trying to expand S2, do it seriously. LevelUp Games can make you grow in Latin America, but if you take a trashy LA company, you'll end up just like PangYa.

I've been keeping a close eye on this thread and I haven't seen any questions that weren't answered by the OP or by another user. Was there anything I missed?

Again, please be wary of the Forum Rules before posting here. I've said this many times in this thread and I shouldn't have to say it again.

Hey Xander, how would you feel if your favorite game was suddenly IP blocked from the main region and you were forced to find matches in a small area with less population with a less than optimal provider?

Why IP BLOCKING?! That's the question!

  17. #237
+1 to anything that is going to keep less bad players yelling at me in a language i don't understand. It drives me crazy, and then speak english at end of game, by bad mouthing my mom, and puppy...

Not saying I don't have english speaking *******s, but I at least enjoy having the lines of communication between people who can speak/type in english.

Perhaps it hasn't been asked directly, but just pondered, mused, and wondered out loud by many in this thread: Expansion of servers to new locations, having more regions, and creating local support are all wonderful and good things, both from the perspective of the community and for S2 as a company.

So the question being asked is: In addition to these good things, why are you also limiting people to certain regions? People living on the West Coast of the US aren't prevented from playing on US East or even the EU servers, all of which would give horrific pings (in my opinion). Why can't there be new servers, local support, more regions, and everything else, but also keep the regions open to all players?
United we stand. Divided we fall.
