No because...
Was thinking this might be interesting.
Monodirectional ward.
Range: 900 in a 20deg cone.
Same cost and would share a cool down with standard wards. You would place similar to how you place chipper's ult.
I think it would add some choice and complexity into warding. Would allow you to ward in different spots to get vision of a specific area. I could think of any occasions when this would be useful, and I don't think it would throw off any balance, just add to choices.

Well, due to tree placements and cliffs normal wards already have that to a degree, especially if you block creep camps with them.
I don't really see how that would add choice/complexitiy to warding either, as at the moment these wards don't seem to offer anything beyond what regular wards do.

The range is 30% greater, they for example could be placed in various areas near the river giving vision of ramps and runes and yet be outside the standard placement locations. This doesnt make them strictly better as they would be missing some of the area the old ward would pick up.
Same for their uses with offensive/defensive ward placement.

Placing range for Wards of Sight is 600, I'm pretty sure the actual vision range is higher though.

Pretty sure wards give vision in an 1800 unit radius. For 30% more vision in a direction you'd have to ramp it up to 2400. Now if it had true sight (not ward sight which reveals True sight which sees through trees) it'd actually be a very strong option, but very difficult to balance imo.

Interesting idea, but not enough to be implemented imo. That would be implementing an item just to increase the size of the ingame shop. Id rather have some completely new items appear than a sister item that does nearly the exact same. That would be like having tangoes that instead of healing 115 over 30 sec (if im not mistaken) healed like 70 hp over 10 sec - losing total health but increasing healed damage per sec, for the same price, just to make it so the player has more choices.
I don't hate the idea, but I don't think its needed![]()
To the above poster, it'd actually be VERY useful if it had amplified vision for mid heroes. If you set it up right, you could ALWAYS see which way your enemy went, even if they went up the cliff. It'd also be a strong assisting item for facing devo mid.
