Monkey king's combo just drops your hp so fast, the only heroes that I can think of that can deal with him are strong tanks like Moraxus, Jereziah, or like electrician, how do you deal with him if you're not a hero with strong survivability and none of your other teamates are too
Her slow and really high base damage and 600 ranged makes MK mid just sad. After lvl 6 MK mids life just get sad he rage quits or starts roaming 24/7.
Good armor + self heals usually are enough, if you are scared of MK combo thou, get Ring of the Teacher and Plated Greaves
Good armor, hp and insane attack animation with mummy walls make MK mids life very hard, but if you are scared of his combo, get Ring of the Teacher and Plated Greaves.
High hp and base damage makes early levels 1-4 easy to survive. At lvl5 you can instakill MK if he dares to try to combo you down.
Autoattack and Sonar Scream haras MK, always have Blink ready to escape. Not easy for MK mid if played well.
Okayish attack animation makes last hitting easy, combine that with Fire Shield and Sear and make MKs life very hard.
Better early harass till lvl 5. After that you still have couple invis abilities and ulti to counter him. Also you have great attack animation and good base damage to over lasthit him.
MK can't kill you ever due your high HP and armor, and you are quite good roamer with your Trample.
Harass harass slow slow and harass slow him abit more, don't let him near you, shouldn't be that hard with your slows. Second fastes range auto attack animation after Flint makes last hitting easy.
High hp, self heals from corpses and good armor makes him surprisingly nasty counter for MK mid. If MK every goes to gank (which he will do) you can push mid tower(s) with ease.
Any range hero really works against MK, you just need to be carefull of your positioning and harass him like crazy on early levels. After laning phase Plated Graves combined with Ring of the Teacher reduce MKs damage HUGE AMMOUNTS and soft counters early Bulwark builds.

As you mentioned electrician is a very good anti-melee mid, but so are rampage and doctor repulsor. Especially doc, even though he's squishy, should make short work of MK's farm. His 1st skill is very cheap yet does loads of damage and its so easy to land on melee heroes.
Anyone with a blink, or various strength heroes are what I normally have trouble with when I play MK.
So i've been playing Monkey King.. A LOT!
The heroes that i've been struggeling against are the following:
,
,
They can basically out herass MK too easy, and use their spells to herass/finish.
Personally i pick aluna myself when i wanna pwn someone who took MK.
:salf: Also works, due to his regeneration, health pool and armor.
Harass.

My greatest troubles at midding with MK are definitely Salforis and enemies that outburst me like Pebbles and Torturer. It's always hard to get farm as a melee hero against ranged enemies but to say that ranged enemies don't die to MK with good positioning is a little iffy... I usually end up being able to flip around to get to them and kill them if I have a rune or if they're squishy enough.
Though mostly in a nutshell, what Riisoni said.
I once went hag mid versus a mk a tad below my lvl,
man I got the beating of my life.
I got bloodlusted on 4, and completely laughed at.
Maybe it got fixed/changed, but when you attempt to blink, and you get vaulted,
you get brought back to where you blinked, with blink on cd.
The timeframe on this was literally ages (...), not just a nanosecond after animation or while the animation takes place.
And he had better timing when ganging, more profit overall.
All prenerf though.
Maybe bloodhunter, because i heard amazing things about BH going mid.
You can probably outfarm mk at mid, stay healthy with feast, and silence him when he goes vault-happy on you. Then when you have your ulti, you can use it to get rid of that ridiculous movement speed of his.
Wh and other squishy blink heroes defenitely sux against mk. I would say heavy boys as kraken or lord are the most comfortable pick.
Pebbles is a counter is played smartly. Yes, he has basically no armor, but MK CAN NOT burst him down at level 3 because he has ~750 hp.
Sure he ca burst pebbles down after auto attacking him to 50% hp but that's why I said "if played smartly". And if MK comes to burst you at level 5 you can instagib him because you have higher burst.

MK is broken to ****. Another S2 agi hero with really strong early game as well as the obvious carry potential, plus his abilities are really disorienting when you're trying to fight him.
Having said that, if you want to win mid just pickand watch me ragequit the lane...
