Let's say you're in a random pub of 10 strangers and the guy who has the lowest stats and lowest mmr demands mid (talking .65 KD, 2.1 K+A/D). Let's say he picks someone likewho can realistically go in any lane. Let's say their pink player rush picks
Now, you're thinking you've got 1.9 K/D and a 4.5 K+A/D ratio, you're clearly more experienced and capable for the bracket, and you have a chance to counterpick Soulstealer with something likefor example. But now OJ polly insists that he's gonna go mid. Do you just say "f--- it, i'm going mid" knowing that you're a better mid than him or do you try to play the hand you're dealt, go in a dual sidelane, and make the best of a losing setup?
On one hand, you're going to make the OJ guy ragequit, feed intentionally, or cramp both of your farm if you share mid lane with him. If you share mid with him, you're just cutting off DW's speed in getting to his lvl 6 ult, which would definetly 1-shot SS who can't blink away or stun.
On the other hand, you're going to hurt your team severely by going in the sidelane instead of exploiting your best player in the mid-lane vs theirYou've seen it a hundred times. Polly won't call MIA, he wont get last hits, he won't deny, he cant kill SS at lvl 6, he might not gank and make use of his ult.
You can always politely explain why you should mid and ask him to go to another lane...?
It works more often than you would think.
I'll never forget what I felt that day...
I, want to be a Hero of Justice!
OP shows why Kills matter.
As long as kills is some pretense of skill, supports will always suck.
Had he mentioned something like.. player a has 2000 games played and player b had 20 games played.. that would have been different.
u try to explain why lanes are better if you mid, if he still doesnt understand, you adapt. Always better to at least give ur teammates a chance
It's all a test of endurance, if he wants mid you go too
And they almost always leave after getting frustrated at lack of last hits you should be causing them to have
My experience playing with pro players is that they generally don't cry about mid.
You really don't need mid to carry a game.
If you sidelane and your mid loses you have about the same chance of winning as if you went mid and the other sidelane failed.
Pollywog is one of the easiest mid heroes. Let the kid mid and push towers and easy win.
Also: 1.9KD in the 1500 bracket really means nothing, except that you are bad because you can't win so you are playing in a bracket lower than you would be in if you knew how to win games.
playedand oj
(while i was teal or blue idr) claimed he was going to mid, we duo'd it and he couldn't last hit, deny or even harass for ****. ended up carrying the game.
pick parasite, jungle the enemy forest and perma gank mid. Once you get lvl 6 soulstealer will be tasty
^I've had games like that, my team has a bubbles buying useless items and telling me to ward as Soul Reaper, I choose to do VERY minimal warding and farm constantly. End up carrying most of the game till team's item choice's and plays become too heavy.
I've also played a no stat as some hero I forget with a yellow dev mid, completely out last hitted him and killed the enemy mid ahead of me after he died. He eventually just left mid since he realized he was just that much worse than me.
Though if you could win the duo mid with usually 2 heroes that require a solo mid and one of them is usually jacking off so you're basically 2v1ing since you're competing with your mid mate and the enemy while being in a level disadvantage... it probably means the enemy's oj/brown went mid so your sidelanes may have gotten severely destroyed while you're only doing okayish since the guy with you at mid is stealing a portion everything you manage to accomplish. If the guy at mid is fairly high tier on their team then chances are your oj/brown would've probably been fine against them and the whole game would have been a stomp regardless. That or you're just way above the mmr tier you're in.
I was the "noob teammate" a couple days ago.
I was brown or something and I called mid and ghost picked Fayde. I think Pink or w/e color picked bloodhunter with 10 seconds left on the clock.
When the game started, he demanded to go mid saying "I don't want brown to go mid".
Needless to say, i ended up with a 12-4 KDR and he ended up with 5-5
Crush your sidelane into dust. Counterward the rune so their mid won't do jack.
Win game.
The John Smith who will shake the world.
When I see this I tell them something like "one of you back down, idgaf who" ....usually followed by "come on, ONE of you stop being a faggot"
What i USED to do was to just scream in mic gtfo my midlane, or i will leave, and if they stay i wait 30 seconds, go feed and leave.
2 weeks later: Got a 2 week ban, writing from my smurf -.-'
But then again i was on a lose streak, and he randomed after i calling since 55 seconds on picking phrase, and im only 1kd 1600...

1. Ask politely for Mid lane and explain why, do not rage.
2. If 1 doesn't work, make sure you know to last hit and be an annoyance to him.
3. Rage and rage more, go raging rage form and rage more till they ragequit.
I usually take 3.

Hero concepts and quick drafts.
I usually just back down and take a sidelane. Though, I'll also often just say into mic "You can stay mid if you want, but I'm not leaving." A lot of times they'll leave after that. It's a surprising counter-troll phrase if you say it calmly enough to let them know you're not going to rage over it, but you also won't put up with their crap.
I had a game a few weeks ago where I picked pebbles, called mid and yellow picked DW at 10 seconds and called mid after the game started. I went through the usual routine, but he wouldn't back down. So, we, surprisingly, dual-laned like calm mature adults and we both completely stomped. He let me get all of the runes and gank like crazy and he just farmed while I was gone. It was the weirdest dynamic ever and I have no interest in trying it again, but we had complete map control with me rune-whoring and contantly ganking while he continued to keep mid shut down. Flint was absolutely worthless that game.
Give the mid to him? i don't see the problem. If you're as good as you say you are. you'll just get farmed off a sidelane and carry regardless.
