What is the difference between 10k users buying an alt on release and 5k buying on release with another 5k buying rerelease??

Newsflash:- unless you play duplicate heroes your oh so precious alt will be the only one in your game.

The only thing I really disagree with here, is the fact you state no S2 member said that the avatar would never be available again.

There is also no way to prove it that I know to, but I am pretty sure when the shop came out this WAS stated, just as you stated real money would never need to be spent in the store, when infact realistically you will never get the items you want without spending money (that includes EA).

Try telling the truth instead of decieving people. Will go a long way.

Even if thats kind of crap such as -
"We need money to sustain the servers in HoN as well as our workforce so that we may continue to support the game, make advancements, and add new development to the game in the future, so therefore we are re-selling avatars people may want to buy"

"We are greedy and need money for our company / business to thrive, therefore we are re-selling items that will make us more money with no regard to the community and what we have told them in the past."

Sick of companies and their stupid statements when people already know the real reason behind the decision and all because its supposed to adhear to a more professional standard.. Nothing about this - is professional.

Another shady move by S2, and a blatant lie, it was clearly stated that gold editions are a one time only and even in the leprechaun MOTD it says that we will never be able to buy it again, this clearly implies that the same applies for EVERY gold collection avatar, shady money grubbing company as always.

One question for Diva/S2, if you never intended for gold collections to be a one time only deal, why when people were posting about them being a ONE-TIME-ONLY deal all over the forums at the time, including your own moderators, WHY did you not clarify it for them, WHY did you let people think it's a one-time-only deal? Is it because you clearly misled people into thinking something false just because it would bring you more profit?

Actually i don't remember being any claims that the Gladiator Ult would not be released again, I remember it wasn't even for a special occasion it was just an out of the blue avatar sale for 400 gold and 600 silver.
Im assuming the 600 Silver was a marketing mistake (Someone would of had thier ass whooped) but i took full advantage =D!

So i actually understand why this is being re-released, With the marketing mistake, the popularity of the item, The increase in player base, Might aswell make some money

But i don't condone it, I do still spend gold on this game, I find it only fair since it gives me hours of entertainment. Gold Collection is Gold Collection and if one or two characters cannot be re-released, then none of them should be re-released. If this avatar was part of another category such as limited edition, then yeah ok.

In the end S2 Needs to be more black and white, All Avatars (Or anything) In certain categories need to have the same rules applied to all of them, or they should create a new category for ones with different rules

They were given the tag of Gold Collection and told never re-released. I am almost positive that it was stated Gold Collection avatars would never return, but it seems if you're going to play this game of semantics then there is no getting through. Continue to accept this poor business I suppose. I know I'm no longer buying anymore coins.

They clarified their stance after a year of ambiguity. Mods have closed and deleted countless threads because of people whining for Gold Collection Avatars back and stating they won't return. If that was incorrect information, then why not clarify long beforehand? This clarification came only after they did something controversial and that was go back on their word.

Update 5/31: The sale of Golden Pebbles has been extended once more. We are giving everyone until 5 PM EST on June 1st to pick up this Gold Collection Avatar. Thank you very much to everyone for your understanding over the past week. We hope this will help you pick up a Gold Collection Avatar before he's gone!

I am pointing out that in this situation (and most) it isn't a case of yes or no, nor is it that a statement not going with the popular opinion is interpreted as a supportive view, there are other views. I think it's quite clear for any non-fanboy out there that S2 pretty much lied and let us think something false for over a year just to drive up sales from people thinking they were buying something exclusive and one-time only. Anyway I'm done talking here, just left with another sour taste in my mouth thanks to S2, disappointment after disappointment that's all there is to it, good day.

In order to address some of the concerns regarding Limited Edition/Gold Collection avatars that Gladius' re-release has spurred, we'd like to clarify how we view special edition items. Special edition items encompass Holiday, Limited Edition, and Gold Collection items. At no time did any member of the S2 staff ever make a public post saying that special edition avatars would never again be made available after the original exclusive period for purchase. However, some of you understood “limited edition” that way and feel that it is unfair that cool items you picked up are now again available to other players, diminishing the exclusivity of the item. We are sincerely sorry for that feeling, as it is entirely our fault for not being entirely transparent with how we view and plan to treat these items. Hopefully this post will serve to clarify things, and you guys will understand our thoughts even if you don't entirely agree with them.
