In order to address some of the concerns regarding Limited Edition/Gold Collection avatars that Gladius' re-release has spurred, we'd like to clarify how we view special edition items. Special edition items encompass Holiday, Limited Edition, and Gold Collection items. At no time did any member of the S2 staff ever make a public post saying that special edition avatars would never again be made available after the original exclusive period for purchase. However, some of you understood “limited edition” that way and feel that it is unfair that cool items you picked up are now again available to other players, diminishing the exclusivity of the item. We are sincerely sorry for that feeling, as it is entirely our fault for not being entirely transparent with how we view and plan to treat these items. Hopefully this post will serve to clarify things, and you guys will understand our thoughts even if you don't entirely agree with them.
Holiday: These items are associated with a specific holiday/time of the year, and we will probably bring them back the next time they are time-appropriate.
Limited Edition: These are special items that we feel are extra awesome, and we want to attach additional status to them. They are available for a short period of time, usually a week, and are then made unavailable indefinitely. However, we will likely bring them back in the future – again for a short period of time – so that future players getting into the game will have an opportunity to grab them.
Gold Edition/Collection: These are collector's edition avatars and are released for a short period of time, usually a week. Afterward, they will be made unavailable indefinitely and will only be re-released under special circumstances (as with Gladius' effects rework). Please note that we had identified Gladius' old ultimate effects as a gameplay issue a long time ago, and the rework was not done just so we could re-release him. Even if these avatars get re-released, they will be available only for Gold Coins, and at a significantly higher price than the original release.
We hope that this serves to alleviate some of the concerns and even if you guys don't agree with our classifications, at least you now understand how we see them. We will work hard to increase transparency in everything that we do moving forward. Thanks for your understanding and continued support of HoN!
Good clarification.

So in other terms, you could of fixed gladiator alt and just not re release it. That would of work and I don't see anyone saying anything about that...
Then people would be all over how they didn't buy it back then because of how it wasn't worth the money back then and other lame excuses.
To be honest, I don't care if they get released for a 2nd time since I am happy as long as I got that avatar, not what anyone else has.
And, S2 being S2, doing work, without option to maximize profit out of it, is a waste of work.
This doesn't explain why you've had to resell the avatar. The fix could have simply been done with a patch. No?
I mean you've fixed Flaming DW without having to resell him, why not Gladius? My opinion is that you want to profit from him more since you didn't get to under the previous pricing scheme. You really messed up with that excuse.

Exactly that. I also remember Chronos alt drama. When people purchased that specific alt, you guys released another alt slightly improved in graphic and ultimate animation. Which was disturbed to people that purchased it with in the first 4 day window or w/e got 2nd one for free. But as well as mentioned here there was no need to re release gold collection avatar which should of been unavailable since its 1st appearance in HoN to be sold again in reason that its been improved in graphics. For a simple reason if you keep your word of truth and saying that you will not under any circumstances will alter re release of past gold collection avatars.
Which seems to me that you can't keep your word about special unique, feat of strength avatars to be no longer obtainable. So while we should not be using such big words it all comes down to how much revenue can we make. Since its such delicate matter beyond those who saying we will rage quit bla bla bla and others saying we will quit if you don't bring other gold collection avatars for purchase we will quit as well. So bring all of them back for special event in package deal or w/e you guys can come up with. I am sure you have good creative team on how much money you can collect from these offerings. That way no one will quit and you will make everyone semi happy. But still you guys can't keep your word.

if someone quit a game becouse of a alt hes certainly weird. Since people cant complain about balance patch anymore they choose something else like this to whine about
Thanks for the sig Lhune <3

He mentioned under any circumstances they shouldn't be re-released.
That very clearly says that they can be re-released under "special circumstances" aka updating an avatar months it came out to put it up for sale again.Afterward, they will be made unavailable indefinitely and will only be re-released under special circumstances (as with Gladius' effects rework).

Can you give an example of a limited edition avatar? because i have no idea what you are talking about.
And I don't understand the gold collection avatars. You say they are only available for a week, but im pretty sure some of the gold avatars are available all the time?
Bunny Predator and Santa Midas are marked as Limited in the store, they fall in the holiday/limited edition category.
Go to the in-game shop and sort avatars from Highest to Lowest price, besides EA avatars Gold Collection avatars are marked as 600g and are un-buyable, they have a little icon next to the name that says Gold Collecton

My Fayde Alt. Avatar suggestion "Hassassin Fayde":http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?p=14811835
Your "Merrick" said multiple times in-game, just when "special edition" avatars time left to buy was about to end, stuff along the lines of "Make sure you get it now before it's gone forever!"
That makes it VERY CLEAR that it wouldn't ever be possible to purchase it again. So don't pull off the snide "S2 never made a public statement declaring this".
Not to be a **** but you've said again and again that gold collection avatars would never again be available. i.e "Once they're gone they're gone for good". I'm to lazy to find a quote from a redtext but I bet most here have seen it themselves.
I personally don't give a rats anymore but it's seriously as if you're actively trying to make people dislike you.
