I always get nullfire on him, since its the best source of cheap agi gain + slow. U guys rly want to stack agi as much as possible since his agi also give you extra shield health which is rly needed when doing war.

A few weird incorrect things I want to correct here...

He doesn't shoot "slow." His BAT is standard, meaning he attacks as fast as pretty much any other hero in the game. The only heroes who attack faster are the exceptions to the rule with BAT, meaning Magebane, Aluna, Nomad. Also, since Gunblade is agility his attack speed increases naturally fairly quickly.

His ult already gives -7 armor, and since lowering armor that already is under 0 has diminishing effect, it would be better to get a different item.
Actually, it's the exact opposite. The deeper into the negatives you go, the FASTER your damage increases. I don't know what to call it. The opposite of diminishing... Uh, increasing returns?

either way the point of the post was that rushing a shieldbreaker rush on him is inefficient on him over other (agi-oriented) pickups, in general he will die too fast for that shieldbreaker to even matter, and without agi pickups he's going to be shooting too slow to kill anything before dying first.

I guess I just simply disagree. I go straight shieldbreaker on valk as well with great success (after other core items like rott, power supply, ghost marchers, etc). He (gunblade) has a super nice shield he can use to get himself out of sticky spots early. Agi helps it sure, but a blessed orb increases his damage reduction by what, a meager 15 points? And that's with level 4 shield...

The wiki doesn't go under 0 armor. Under 0 armor it is diminishing.

    See: http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/sh...=shieldbreaker

Look for the differences between -1 and -2 armor, differences between -2 and -3 armor etc.

    No. It isn't.

Try taking the second derivative (acceleration) and looking at it that way. Good way to brush up on your calculus, as well.

Edit: even the thread you linked shows this. A difference of 6 going into the negatives, with only differences of 5 or much smaller going into the positives.

Hey mr math, you are wrong.
The ideal amount of -armor to get is the amount that reduces
    Your opponents armor to 0.

    Look at is this way:
Having enough armor to reduce incoming dmg 100% -> you take zero damage.
If i i ger the same amount of negative armor, u get double damage.

Compare the two and u'll soon find that One of them is stronger.

After playing some games with Gunblade, here are some thoughts. Skillwise, I've found maxing q followed by w, taking ulti asap and leaving e for last is the most efficient way to go.You won't be needing e much early as you mostly want to keep at max range from the enemies anyways and the other two skills are more beneficial early. Someone mentioned putting points in stats early. I just feel all of his skills are far too good to pass up for stats. Itemwise I like going steams, shroud, nullfire, geo, genjuro upgrade. Haven't gotten further than that but from there you could choose an orb that suits the situation(Mostly sb or fws) and perhaps wingbow or something.. He has great synergy with the build since you can really benefit from purge and geo illus get the steroid passive too. I realize the build sounds quite squishy but all the agi gives you shitloads of armor and with it your shield will likely be absorbing around 400 damage. Also I've had great results from going mid with him, q and w give him decent runecontrol and he's a good ganker from minute 1. Just my 2 cents and sorry for the wall of text.

I've been playing gunblade alot, and I've actually found that rushing alch bones is extremely good on him. I have been going mid solo with starting items trees and gloves of haste, and at lvl 1 with your passive the attack speed just lets you dominate any other hero. I also believe outside of early game he has below average farming potential so the alch bones really help with that. Don't mock it till ya try it

I start with soulscream ring and grave locket. Ghost marchers then shroud. Upgrade to genjuro asap then get nullstone. Tend to get wingbow after that, the shield is crazy strong at this point. With blinkers it's nice to shroud up, attack, ult when they blink batter them a few more times using ghost marchers to keep right on top of them and second charge of shroud to get away if needed / reposition right on top of someone else. With null as long as you pop your shield early enough i don't find a need for shrunken.
