Oh boy. That explains so much.
Like the DivA vs Lulu Facebook Challenge around a year ago where it took them 1 1/2 months to get around 1000 people to like their page - and she didn't hold her promise of dressing up as a Valkyrie.
Bad advertising, bad result, bad outcome. And everything was kept down and silent. The handling of that issue fits in perfectly with other ones .... maybe we stumbled upon one of those people who are to blame for the bad reputation?

actually i followed up on that, several months after that contest diva went on a podcast saying that the valk costume would cost thousands of dollars, so instead he wanted to take pictures of lulu in a bikini

No, following the OP here I made two other posts: a post calling "someone" a "diaper wearing nerd," which got XanderK PMSing and for which he gave me an infraction. Then I criticized S2 for still not updating the ladder 3.5 months post-compression and got banned following that.

Even if that was the case and the ban was "automatic" due to the accumulation of infractions, that means I got banned for getting an infraction for pointing out that S2 didn't update the ladder for 3.5 months, since I posted that after my previous infraction regarding "diaper time."

I just saw that sticky in GD. This is too ****ing funny. If there was one line I thought S2 wouldn't be able to cross it was re-releasing those gold collection avatars, but apparently "Afterward, they will be made unavailable indefinitely and will only be re-released under special circumstances (as with Gladius' effects rework)"

So uh yeah, change some animations, that's a special circumstance, and now it's ok to re-release and break that promise too.

Anyone else remembers how they hyped nearly every patch with 'super mega fancy' stuff and in the end they received shitstorm for Shop 2.0, F2P, EA, Ra etc etc etc?
I guess these shitstorms fortified S2's 'We do what we want and dont care about the community since they are angry anyway' stance.

This kind of stuff happened because they stopped the comunication with the community since retail. Afaik Maliken made a post and said sth like 'it was a mistake that we comunicated so much in beta',(I guess it's about the empty promises they made back then) correct me if im wrong about it. Every company makes their costumer angry from time to time - but S2 is doing it constantly...Im not angry anymore, im sad. The direction they went was imo the wrong.

About the Dota2 talk: Can't we just delete LoL, HoN, Dota2 and go back to an early state of Dota where words like 'troll' or 'griefer' weren't re-invented for online games?
