    Losing belief in CD

Is he just a worse pub hero than the competition now? it seems like nearly every game is facing a lineup like one of these using examples from my latest games:

    + :jera: + + +

    + + + +

    + + + +

    + + + +

How the **** are you supposed to play CD against lineups like that? it's like I come in, I put conduit on the best target I can find and it either disables me and runs away, leaps/blinks/goes invis, is magic immune and/or face****s me, is practically immune to damage and doesn't care that I'm hitting it, has already pressed R and so already done what he was there to do and it doesn't really matter if I kill that target now or not even if I can or some combination of this.

My item build is 2 duck boots & 2 runes > steamboots (that I keep on agi until I'm dying) > vestments > chainmail > shrunken. I don't get ghost marchers because I reason that I already have a passive giving me MS after I have shrunken, that I need a team that has disables to keep people in place for me anyway, that a bit more ms and unit walking won't help against escapes and that when I die it's because something (// etc.) locks me down and kills me not because I'm not running away fast enough.

It feels like I just can't do anything. And I notice a trend that whenever the enemy team doesn't have millions of escapes, shiploads of burst, retarded tankiness and suchlike that I tend to win. But otherwise, the way that CD is feels ''obsolete''. Then there are small things like being helpless vs Nomad because if you use your ulti you can't even try to bait his ulti, you'll just get hit by it. Torturer outlaning you while doing uncomparably more aoe damage and still doing at least as much single target damage as you do.

Also needing to go mid but being helpless against almost unharassable hatchet melees who usually gank and carry better than you but you suck in sidelanes against standard combos and are a bad solo pusher compared to stuff like valk/magebane etc. because of no defensive skills that can't easily be negated and no escape whether it lets him get into woods and TP or not. I feel like I have to outplay my opponents just to be on par with them, like playing Brits against Wehrmacht in Company of Heroes.

    Wtf can I do?

Corrupted really needs a solid team of disables to surround him, as he lacks both a stun and a slow. Without the proper team to support him, he will be useless. With the right lineup, CD would fit will going against the second and fourth lineups in your list, as kraken, legionaire, ra, zephyr, and electrician are all good targets for conduit.

Electrician is kind of a ***** though, since he can just purge the conduit. Corrupted does seem like a subpar hero at the moment.

Early boots (not as first iten) and conduit is just amazing in the first minutes in the game, usually works way better then a sb, since every1 waits sb to go for first blood.

A good way to build CD is going thanky and fast. A charged grave locket, steamboots on strength and HotBL gives you about 600 extra health (get vestment too). CD is not meant as a tank tho, but he gets so much damage from his abilities. By surviving longer in teamfights he makes enemies lose more armor and damage while gianing more over time.

Building Frostburn after gives additional 300 health, and combining movespeed from his passive and Frostburn, he can move pretty fast to slow and chase down enemies.

Right on the spot. He's still a very powerful glass cannon but glass cannons aren't what shine at the moment. Your team needs massive disables/support to run a CD carry. He could use a 50 range buff though, I would say (from 475 with low base damage to 525 at least).

    ^pretty much this.

typical way of getting CD to work properly:
    1. take mid, stomp it. go around setting up ganks and snowballing early advantage
    2. buy tanky items, get together with your team and go around pushing towers with your early farm advantage and grab easy towers; healers and pushers are very good for this and make things very easy for you
    3. snowball with the even more farm advantage from number 2 and either rax or be so overfarmed that you can just run over enemy carries and win the game anyway

if you didn't win at number 3, then you're starting to go downhill from there. you're going to need to rely a lot on your team to set up stuns and support you while you run around like a scaredy cat in every team fight so you don't die until your charges build up, then when you've got enough ult/conduit charges clean up. this especially gets frustrating when you're in a team without many stuns or disables (4 carry teams much?), it gets that much harder to stay alive while at the same time trying to contribute to your team without risking dying (though CD's saving grace is he's SUPER fast because of his passive).

tl;dr - do a lot of snowball ganking early as corrupted is good at dive raping early on, and then take it mid game with a survivability build with your team. otherwise just consider picking up another hero if you're looking for an afk-farm take-it-late game carry hero, there are better picks for that.

    FOR ALL THAT IS HOLY~!

Don't worry guys, Lodestone won't be getting picked up in competitive, your balance forum regulars have assured it in this Lodestone balance thread ;)

In most games Shrunken Head is the bread and butter of Corrupted Disciple. Though in some of those games I would've grabbed Geometer's Bane early along the way, with maybe a Gravelocket to go with. I think CD works best in line-ups which with you know that you want to force teamfights, earlier the better. Items and heroes for the team that allow you to start pushing early and grabbing towers so he can just go in and stand there in midst of it all, hopefully without getting locked down with Shrunken Head/Andromeda helping.

Face it, he is a trash hero, he has no real cc, and his escape is a movespeed increase... sure he can walk away if the enemy does not have 5 or more disables on their team.

He also has 1 semi ok nuke (semi ok because most of its dmg an be avoided when beeing still).

He is only viable against people who dont know how to counter his dmg sap... by walking away from him.

You need ghostmarchers to chase down people.

cd doesn't work at the moment because hon right now is just all about being tanky and having nukes/disables. disables **** up cd's conduit, so you are basically required to get a defense item like shrunken or null, while other carries can build whatever they want as long as they are doing fine.
