    Never google your symptons.

You will end up with being afraid of having cancer or aids.

    Cheers.

I always end up with brain cancer - another reason I don't believe we should have robot doctors!

I once ended up with aids, I had a fever 1 month after I had unprotected sex and then started googling my symptons.. I was so worried that in the end I actually took an AIDStest, even after my doctor said it was just some virusthingy.

Yes. I've been a hypochondriac for most of my life and didn't overcome it until about a year and a half ago. For those who don't know what it is, hypochondria is pretty much a phobia of diseases (it's not where you're afraid to be around people or anything but you're pretty much just afraid that there's something wrong with you). With me it led to panic attacks and I even ended up in the hospital once. It took control of my life.

Looking up symptoms and what they might mean largely contributed to my fears and made them worse towards the end. It took a fairly long chat with my doctor and many months of convincing myself (as well as forbidding myself to look anything up anymore) to finally overcome it.

Looking back now I feel stupid for letting it get to me so much but let me assure you that living in almost constant fear is not fun. Don't do it.

Symptoms of HIV don't show up until 6+ months of infection. Hell, a lot of the tests can't even detect it till many months after infection. I don't think looking up symptoms online is bad if you do your proper research and remain skeptical about more dire prognoses. If it seems bad, go to a doctor, not a website.

    Yep, that's the thing.

Basicly what the interwebz tells you - symptons are like a normal flu, but it could be aids. Have fun waiting before you can do a somewhat precise test.

Looking up symptons always leads you to the most ****ed up **** ever, because half of the bullshit has the same symptons.
