Minimap Ping Spam

Hi.



I think we've all have come across player/players that at some point just constantly ping spam on your minimap and what bothers me is that to make the ping noise go away, you have to turn off the ingame sound.

I suggest that there should be a function on the sidepanel, right next to a teammates icon, were you can either choose to constrain or mute incomming ping from certain player/players.

This function, or something similar, would makes it easier to focus on the ongoing game and if your streaming, viewers doesn't have to put up with the constant noise of some player/players that are constantly spamming.

By the way, it would also be nice to make the pinging from a mentor more noticeable both colour and sound wise so you can easily distuinguish if it comes from player/players or from your mentor.

But I feel like I want to players to enjoy to play Heroes of Newerth just slightly more and making watching Heroes of Newerth streams just slightly more enjoyable.
I know that "you can just easily ignore it" or "there is a mod for this" but I think that players/streamers shouldn't have to resort to using a mod to solve such a common issue.

Either disable pings from certain players(like mute) or at least mute the sound.
Or at least restrain it by once per 1-2 -5 seconds per player like OP said.

Not really. You get people even when Spoken to/type. Who dont notice a DW/Devo running at them with haste. pings need to be done. cause then they are like:
"WTF! oh right didnt see him- Im dead and a noob - MID CALL YOUR LANE NOOB TRASH SCRUB"

Yes, but a single ping is sufficient. Pinging like a spastic so we can't see the map does not help. 1-2 second limiter would be nice.

Lol, it's not. Never has been and never will be. As long as the limit is for the player that has the option turned on, that's fine. If it's limited for everybody regardless of if they want it on or not, bad idea.

Well, it's a compromise. On one hand you have the need to communicate visually, and on the other hand you have spastic retards. I do agree on it being optional, in fact it would be nice to only limit the ones who abuse it, most people don't.

On this line of thought, i think we need some way to identify exactly who is doing the pinging. And when someone is added to ignore, just to ignore their pings too.

I agree! Especially about getting an exclusive ping for mentors. And while I´m at it, I´d say the mentor also should have an exclusive cursor, It can be confusing to see two identical cursors

Thank you guys so much for viewing, voting but also leave a message about the topic.
I know that there is a mod but I honestly don't think that you when have to resort to download a mod to resolve the issue is just slightly wrong.
I have recieved alot of messaging saying something similar like "just igonore it" however...
It is really hard to ignore something that constant, NO MATTER WHAT BRACKET YOU ARE IN!!!
I am trying to not just reach out to individual players but to also players that are streaming since the viewers also have to deal with the player/players that constantly spam minimap pings and eventually have to either mute or heavily reduce the stream volume becuse on player/players.
