Yes
No (With reasons stated why)
Hi there,
Inspired by a recent thread that explores the problem with alt avatars, I propose one or two additions.
The scoreboard in game shows the hero icons and the Player name next to them. When you highlight the hero icon, it grows bigger. Now despite playing x many games, even I get confused by people's alts and even more embarrassingly, I played against Monarch yesterday and had NO IDEA that that was Monarch until I saw the hero in the lane, probably because I'm so used to people actually choosing her alt. I thought it was a horsemen, ha.
So I'd like to suggest:
When you highlight the icon, instead of it just growing, it also displays the hero name next to it. This affects the gameplay in no way at all, doesn't really get in the way as it only shows up when you highlight over the icon, and will clearly inform you of which hero it is you are playing against.
Hope you like this suggestion, I'd also like to propose one more, but I'll make another thread for that.
Thanks.
KT

You can see the names of all the heroes in the game by writing /ma or /matchup.
Just look at the colour of the hero you are wondering about.
Yes that is the case but unfortunately not many people know about that. However it would be considered instinct to highlight over an icon if you didn't know who it was, atleast I have done this in the past.
It would be a simple add-on that hardly affects anything else. And personally, I don't think colours are all that obvious on every hero.

just saying, that when you dont know what hero it is, type /ma <- it spams a little bit, but helps you know who is who (also use, when someone got disconnected and you want to see his level)
and, bump.
