But I had on-topic and contributing posts that where not bad mannered getting removed/deleted without further notice or reason why .

Again: The moderation itself is no problem when it's with a good reason.
It is the current lack of feedback/explanation towards the users that should be improved.
People might not know why their threads (and as I said earlier their posts) get deleted.
Give the people feedback why you moderate them!

Unless a thread gets deleted because it's an obvious rage and swear filled topic.
In that case people should just get an infraction (in which they at the same time get a reason).

It's 2 clicks and a short text.
Nothing more.

I would be in favor of an automated system where users would be notified if their posts were moderated in any way with the reason for it happening (Moderators already put down a reason anyways when doing such things), but I don't know how that stuff works. x)

This is what I've been telling people for ages, yet all I get is rage-posts when I warn or infract people

I would be in favor of an automated system where users would be notified if their posts were moderated in any way with the reason for it happening (Moderators already put down a reason anyways when doing such things), but I don't know how that stuff works. x)

I don't know what version of vBullitin is running here.
I assume the latest. In there it is possible to add a simple script that opens a tekst box where you can enter a short text when deleting a post.
The user of that post then get's the message.
I guess that's what you mean? It surely is possible on this platform.

The same goes for my earlier mentioned "mod-edit" of existing posts.
It adds a sort of post inside a post (postception!) where the mod can add his edit/etc.

Those are just little kids.
I would rather rage for getting my stuff deleted or locked without notice, reason, warning, infraction or whatever.
Then getting a legitimate explanation why I was wrong and a mod had to moderate.

sure this place would be a lot better if it wasn't for the little ignorant trolling, flaming and raging kids.
But sadly, that will never happen.
Those will always be around.
And it's up to us to be the bigger man, woman, pony, whatever in this situation.


(And I admit: I tend to have the occasional rage-out as well :P)
