Remove Sell Penalty of Items With Recipe

:goldenshield::goldenshield::goldenshield: REMOVE SELL PENALTY OF ITEMS WITH RECIPE :goldenshield::goldenshield::goldenshield:
    by Jellie

    THE PROBLEM

Situation - it's the beginning of a game, you're demented shaman and derp out, accidentally buying a full talismen of exile. No problem right? Just sell it back within 15 seconds and get those wards and mana potions. Nope, you lose 200 or so gold because once an item with a recipe is completed, when it is sold it's automatically sold for half the gold.

    MY SOLUTION

my suggestion is just to have a grace period for the prematch so players who accidentally buy recipe'd items can sell them without penalty. I know that the current selling system is in place to prevent exploits (i.e. a rich Thunder Bringer could keep buying a resto stone, ulting then selling it), so this grace period would only exist before the clock hits 0:00.

As of yet, I am unsure if something like this could be coded. My perception is, items could be assigned different properties according to the time on the clock, akin to hero vision radius and neutral aggravation values depending on the clock time (day or night). Waiting on devs to get back to me on that.

Once again, please leave a comment below, as I will ALWAYS appreciate and respond to your constructive feedback. Remember, you can only view the poll results after voting, so get to it! Happy HoNing!

As I see it there is no real drawback to implementing this.

Yeah, if you find any potential exploits that could be used by the implementation of this new system, let me know so I can work something out :>

Please make it so that WHENEVER you buy an item (all of the components, recipe or not) you can sell it back within 15 seconds for the full amount as long as you haven't actively used it (PK, Restoration Stone, Void Talisman etc). Exploiting this would mean something like standing in the fountain as TB buying spellshards, ulting and selling it back or [insert something else mega retarded]. Doesn't seem like a problem and makes you a lot less pissed when you right click the fws when you have a frostburn and it buys a new icebrand and even though it has the sellback icon on it you still just get half the cash for no apparent reason.

I think it's not like this so people don't buy 3/4 items parts, then 10 minutes later buy the recipe and sell the item, getting 100% of their money back.

Though surely there is a way to change it so that doesn't happen..

What if you have an item that is old, lets say blessed orb. you finish you nullstone but if you sell it you could sell back the old blessed orb at full price

The system I am proposing would only apply for the PREMATCH (before faction creeps spawn, or 0:00 clock time). After this, normal selling rules apply.

An alternative would be that it would be possible to split a recipe'd item, but only sell the RECIPE for full price. Of course if the other item components were purchased less than 15 seconds ago, then they could be sold for full price as well.

Edit: Hm I got the idea wrong at first.

    My suggestion/improval of your idea:
I remember buying a Shieldbreaker once cause I already had the hammer for Shrunken Head, the little "sell" sign showed up though and BOOM..S2'd I also missclick sometimes so it would be awesome if it was possible to ..

    1) either deattach recipes from items for 15 seconds or
    2) simply sell recently bought (up to 15 secs) recipes AND parts again by an automated system in case you've just assembled the wrong thing.

A system like this or something similar would be quite useful.

Also something to fix accidentally buying 2x firebrands when building a Geometer's Bane and already having Frostburn combined.

I'm pretty sure that's wrong, as far as i recall, you don't get the full gold back for an item that you used already (try purchasing a bottle, using it once and then selling it again), because you could still exploit it (purchase a void talisman at the enemy shop, activate it, fountain dive, sell it, purchase a new one, activate it and so on...). Personally I think they should give you 10-15 seconds to disassemble an item and sell the components that you just purchased again (obviously only if you haven't used the item yet).

Thanks for all the ideas! The firebrand/icebrand buying interaction with fb/fws/geos fix is in the works afaik.
