Need serious help getting out of my bracket.

    Hey,

I'm 1160 and falling. I've been up to 1600 pre compression, then dropped to 1400, then to 1000, then solo'd my way back up to 1500, then dropped again.

This time I can't seem to move. Every game starts well, I get a steady amount of kills then I'm stomped my the enemy carry. Usually a Magebane.

I can't really carry too well. I don't know how to maximise my farm to the point of snowballing. That and I seem to be getting stuck with complete idiots. One lane gets lost and whoever won against it destroys us the rest of the game.

I know I can only blame myself because when I do have a feeder on my team, I can't carry hard enough to counter it. Sometimes it's myself feeding too. Occasionally I get a winning streak and go up 50 MMR but it never lasts.

I'm looking for people who have managed to solo this bracket and emerge somewhere decent. I need tips and tricks on the best hero to pick to solo, how to play them, how to outfarm everyone and how to stomp the other team regardless of the behaviour of my teammates.

I don't know anyone in this bracket who I can queue with and I can't queue with my clan because most of them are too high MMR for it to make a difference to me.

Anyway, and help would be great. I'd like to be good, but nothing I do seems to be working.

Are you a 1000-1450 MMR player who can't manage to climb out of your bracket? Check out: http://tinyurl.com/LowerMMRs and type /j clan team lowmmr in game to join the clan channel and find similar players to team up with. Please no high MMR players who want to carry us. It takes too long at 0.5mmr per game and defeats the purpose.

Angrytestie is a really good farmer. If you watch his stream you'll see that he nukes down entire creep waves with his skills. Look into this.

Ill play with you add me.
Anyway, i bet you people will post "go mid EZ" "Pick <their win heroes>" and such. Funny thing is in solo ques the nature of the game is unpredictable and things likely to go the way you dont want. My advice is play with friends, have fun and dont mourn if lose because people are supposed to have an average 50% win rate. Stats dont mean everything as well. Play a hero you know it well and be confident.

I mean. You play Hag as most i see. Good hero.
I suggest not having your mana full everytime. You should moderately use your nuke to last hit 3 or more creeps and harass the enemy in lane early in the game.
If they have alot of single target spells a nullstone is good. Get tp and power supply as core. In team fights dont initiate first with blink nor be in the middle of the clash. If there are any heroes you like or interested post them

Add me as a friend and I'll come in and mentor you when I can. Actually I'll send you a request and I'll come in when I get a chance.
I'm only 1600 but another set of eyes can always help to improve your game.

Personally I've been to 1300 and then went back up, if that means anything.

I can give you my exprerience if it helps. Before I started HoN I played some dota with friends against bots.

I was therefore not that used to playing vs real people in HoN. So me and my friends played i MM together, sometimes when drinking. In addittion I used gladiator alot, which was a hard hero to fully master. The end result was that I dropped all the way down to 700-800 MMR. Then I worked my way back up to 1500 and is 1520 after compression mostly through solo play.

How did I get back up to 1500?

I picked heroes that was easier to work with in unknown teams that also had good farming capabilities (examples valkyrie, Ra, keeper of the forest). These heroes scale well, can farm and gank effectively at lower brackets, and is quite easy to keep up a 250-400 gpm. They can oputweight having a feeder/bad player on your team. Best tip is to always focus on keeping your farm up with heroes that dont need to use up too much resourcer to do so.

    played more sober (some times)

watched hon-casts and learned to use abilities more often to increase farm (when no ganking opportunities were avaliable)

got more focused on map awareness

bough wards (and inviswards vs invisheroes) when needed

alot of people will say mass mid an own with semi-carry/gankers be it pebs, ss, or whatever else. what they dont realise is you need a good foundation of the fundimentals of the game across the board to do so effectively.
I find their is one counter to all this: Lord Saf. Easy hero to learn, Easy to master. can go in any lane well, almost impossible to kick out of the laning phase if you get either (bottle mid) or chalice in side lane after your first 3 items with the 600gold.
his aura passive is wonderous early, specifically in the mid lane vs one hero. use life tap to remove creeps so they arent denied, let the lack of creeps + your aura cut down the opponent heroes hp, after 3-4 waves of creeps he's forced into potioning or eats trees alot (at least 5-6 by now if he wants to stay in exp range)

once 7-8 you should be on your ghosts and either bottle or chalice. now its simply chase > lifetap > ult > lifetap > get away = easy kill. keep lane presence and spam harass with lifetap to demorale their team out of exp range and gold.

Happy to see people coming with actual non-troll advice and willing to help/play with this guy. I'd be happy to play with you too but that's as much as I can offer, and it's not much since I only hop on HoN these days to play Engi lol.

My games are really hit or miss. I've gone 14/1/13 several times(give or take a few k/d/a per game)and had a full list of wins. Or like now how I have almost a full list of losses with rather bad stats. 3/3/3 or 2/4/8 etc.(It went from all wins to all losses when the f2p heroes changed. I have it on shorter ques and non-verified is thumbed up. Not sure if any of this is contributing to my sporadic wins/losses). Unrelated note but I like how your recent games mean everything pre-game when people are checking you out. You could have a k/d ratio of 10 to 1 and they'd still judge you based on your recent games instead.

tldr: I'll play with you. Just don't expect any immortals out of me. Unless our MM's are too far apart and that prevents you from moving up? I know very little of how it works. Never cared enough to understand it. Never cared about my k/d/a ratio either, just aim to win.

I'll carry you np. Just hit me up in game and add me as friend.

I've taken accounts in the dumpster 750mmr all the way to 1600 ez solo que only.

Basically you pick game changers, for low tier games, gankers are the way to go, or semi carry heros who gank well.

    gankers: guant/pebbles/fayde/dw

    semi carry gankers: flint/hag/moa/valk/etc

Other method is to take heros that change the game with their spells only. This type is heros like : magmus/kracken/martyer/jera/ etc.

Or you can pick a general all rounder such as zeph or arma.

To add to what others have said, I suggest getting a few heroes that you enjoy that can fill different roles (something like a few stunners/disablers, tank, and a carry or two), then play what your team needs. Sometimes it will make a difference, other times your sol. I've been in a few games where I was able to outfarm the enemy carry and pull my team to victory when all hope was gone. Also, try to find a friend or two to play with. I introduced my friend to HoN 2 months ago, and he is already doing great. We play almost 1-2 games every weekday, around 4 on weekends. Find a hero combination that complement each other, try to get a lane together, and dominate early game. Sure, we almost fell into the 1200-1300's the first month, but now we are slowly making our way back to the 1400-1500's.

In this world gone mad, we won't spank the EM players, the EM players will spank us.

I have one questions that's going to change the way you view at HoN if you answer this thoroughly: Why?

Play 3v3, loads of heros there are so umbalanced, mainly tanks, you should be able to get your way from they.

    Use these OP heros :

#1 - Just OP if you use him correctly....
    - If you can hook you can get ganks pretty much easily
    - Disablers, they can disable most of the team and your allies can finish them off.
    - Any tanky heros that can take alot of damage works really well..

A team with alot of Stuns, slows will usually win (Ganking team is nice!)
Heros with some sort of moving ablity or blink is nice.

very supportive posts! keep it up! I am in the same boat as you!

    A few tips :-

    1) Less team dependent the hero, the better.
    2) Try to pick ones that can tank and initiate if possible.
    3) Heroes that can flash farm with some kind of escape mechanism also works
    4) Also if you find yourself unable to win lategame, go for solid pushers.
    5) Need to avoid ganks ? you may need to ward up yourself. The 100 g you spend can save you from losing more than twice that amount in case of ganks.
    6) Don't focus on kd but on taking out the enemy shrine.
    7) Keep atleast 1 tp scroll with you and try to buy them in pairs if possible.
    8) Have fun, because in the end it is just a game.

i once went down to 900 mmr lol, took me a while to work my way back up to 1500 mark,

i main thing is learning to carry and looking at the hero picks in ur team and picking a hero that goes well with them, like maby elec and Swiftblade, that will give SB a nice farm and kills early on in game, and hopfully he can lead u to a carry

or like chronos and forsaken archer both there ultis together is nice
tempest and kraken, that is funny 1
