FrozenDK and I were talking about item changes and balances, and a very neat idea popped into our heads. Thunderclaw and Charged hammer are decent items, but what if we could add another path to them?
At the moment, Thunderclaw can be picked up, and if followed by a warpcleft and the recipe, we're given a Charged Hammer.
The idea we had is for a "Charged Katana". The item would be made up of Firebrand and Thunderclaw, with no recipe. This way, it would be viable to pick up this item and turn it into Geo's or Frostburn, and then to finish off Charged Hammer.
So what's the difference between the hammer and katana?
The difference is this: If the Katana is picked up, it will act just like Thunderclaw, though each proc of the item will allow for 2 additional arcs of lightning along with the number that Thunderclaw gives.
25 Attack Speed
10% Movement Speed
20% Chance to cast Chain Lightning on attack. Chain Lightning will jump to two additional targets compared to Thunderclaw.
This item's chance to trigger does not stack with Thunderclaw, Charged Hammer, or itself.
Does not propagate to illusions.
