    Tbh only situations when im buying savage mace are those when enemy team got nh. Maybe its because that most of people doesnt understand that if you want armor + attack speed, demonic isnt only option and in many scenarios wingbow can be a lot more efficient - than you would pick SM more often.
    Outside of specific cases with AGI heroes with base damage steroids like NH or TDL, the only time Wingbow will be "a lot more efficient" is when your team has somebody else with Sol's or DBP already built. Wingbow's offensive and defensive effects are outmatched by DBP's three aura effects (incl +15 AS to entire team), +15 armor almost matches +4.3 armor and 30% evasion, also doesn't get countered by savage mace, and the -5 enemy armor is better than a +62 damage because it applies on all allied attacks against all enemies in radius. AS bonus is nearly the same, 55 for DBP vs 60 for WB

    Love Savage, always have. I agree with much of what's been said in how remarkably strong this item is. Yet, for some reason I really don't see it used often. I can't explain it; how people prefer Shieldbreaker over Savage especially now that its deflection puncture is removed is just beyond me.

    If any change were to be made to SM, price is definitely the most logical. Its lack of true stats and surv would make it more of a risk to invest in if the price were notably increased.

    People prefer Shieldbreaker because level 1 is one of the most cost-efficient completed damage items for its pricepoint (riftshards 1 and slayer are close by), and then you can upgrade it twice easily, rather than invest into components for something bigger.
    Given the proliferation of Bulwark as well, it's a very easy item to justify.

    A lot of heros utilize Shieldbreaker and Sols/Breastplate a lot more then savage mace. Nomad, Drunken Master, Monkey King, and even Semi Carry Tundra love it.

    6600 for level 3 Shieldbreaker and Sol's is way more cost efficient (and effective) then MKB, by far!!!!

    MKB costs 5400, gives +88 Damage, true strike, Attack Speed, and the Proc.

    ShieldSol costs 6600, almost as much damage(70), shitloads of -armor which everyone can utilize, and +5 armor to self. Sols builds into an Assault too!!

    Overall for the early mid game, ShieldSol rapes any combination, and some heros scale amazingly well with it!
