phil was hired exactly for one reason to take care of hontour. he is in charge for everything related to hontour. if it gets delayed and even if it is not his fault he is the one responsible for it. he gets payed real $$ for his job as esport director, but its not the first time that the ex-honcast guys dissapoint us ....Originally Posted by TheHultek

I don't really care that much about this. I just think it's funny that they don't want to give an ETA or actual timeline on this because they don't want to be committed to it for fear of failing. But as anyone who works in ANY professional organization/industry knows that that is absolute bull crap. You set a schedule/deadline and you better stick to it or your goin to lose your clients/customers/respect.
Well, i guess the key word here is "professional".
I'm not sure if you are informed about this or not but the guys previously in charge of HoNtour managed to work several months on the project without doing anything.
It doesn't even matter what I think about this whole issue, about Phil, S2 or MQ - he has to make up for several months of work in half the time.
With a project that big (and it is big) that's actually a hilarious amount of work.
You can find new things to bash on, hell, I'm annoyed by the situation myself, but give that man a break already.
And guess what, I neither get payed to write this nor am I best friends with Phil - it's just common sense and possibly a little bit more information than you may have because we competitors already unleashed hell upon S2.
I don't know when HoNtour is gonna come, end of this month or 2014, but I know for sure that they are making progress and, unlike the last two guys in charge, are actually working on it.
Besides, there are many small tournaments coming up right now, there are several new teams suddenly emerging with names I've never read before and I'm sure more are to come. You can write your ass off to convince everyone that HoN is dead, it is actually growing instead.

Noone is saying HoN is dying and you cant argue against the rising number of online players.
What people are saying is that instead of staying quiet and letting people speculate things they should give frequent updates since this is something we are all really looking forward to.
It´s not hard for Phil to hop on forums for three minutes and let us know about the progress he is making or has made.
This has been S2´s weakest spot and still is, communicating with community.
TBH, most games don't communicate that well or that much with the community,but even though they don't give feedback, it does not mean that they do not read
13.3, two weeks,etc.
and what will happen to our stats for last friday and saturday?

Nova that would be nice, if you actually had proof that they didn't do anything while working on the project. You're going off his word right now, which isn't verifiable.
Have we seen any progression of hontour since Dreamhack winter where it's been mass publicized? Or even prior to that? No. Absolutely nothing, they aren't even replying to this thread anymore. They promised this circuit over a year and a half ago in an interview, and nothing has came. They were saying that hontour was going to be out at NASL time as well.
Don't act like they're innocent children and "deserve" a break. Phil obviously isn't the only force in hontour, and that I can agree with, he doesn't deserve the bashing as a PERSON, but as an entity running Hontour, the bashing is justified.
It's simply taking responsibility for your actions, which isn't happening.
Its not like s2 are denying that they are late, so why are you saying they are not taking responsibility ? I dont see them dodging the bash in any way so what makes you spit bs like that ? And what would taking responsibility mean for you, they apologised and said they were working harder on it what more do you want ?
The pros of communicating far outweight the cons that occur on the chance that something goes wrong and gets delayed. Compared with not saying anything at all there is absolutely no contest; people are guaranteed to be mad that way, whereas communicating is a plus in and of itself and only has a chance to cause disappointment.

I don't know how to put this withot getting a warning and post deleted, but your naive attitude and acceptance nova is very very discouraging given your influence in this scene and in the community. With that said, you are many censored words.

Don't even know what to begin with nor do I want to write a wall of text.
Either way I am talking about _recent progress on the work.
Danijel 'StreeT' feels the same about this problem as it is hurting HoN very much. He is talking to S2 and he knows things are progressing fast - that it will happen soon and that they are working their ass off to make it happen asap, Phil especially. And if you have no respect for StreeT and his opinion then I don't know.
There's a reason for S2 not to publish information about HoNtour. I don't support their decision about this but I guess when you step ten times into the same trap you kinda get paranoid about it.
All I'm saying is that you just want to mindlessly bash and vent your anger. Instead, look on the positive things that are actually happening. So many new teams LF scrim in the respective channels a lot of new, small tournaments - I don't really need to repeat myself.
That's it.
Ps: Amelinda I don't know why you think bringing it to a personal level solves anything but you're ****ing with the wrong guy.
If Street was in charge of this Hontour could be up in a week. Instead they hired a chubby ex-marine in denial with literally no executive or organizing experience to run a large scale tournament, and therefore hontour will NEVER get going.
Let's make a deal.
When it happens, you stop posting on the forums.
If it never happens, I stop posting on the forums.
Let's be honest Kolapz - you're not gonna stop posting no matter what, HoN is your life.
