Changing Alternate Avatar In-game (Or set a default skin!)

What

With the courier, you can, when in-game, press a button to switch between alt avatars...

Why can you not, when in-game, press a button to switch between alt avatars for heroes?

Of course, it would be limited, ie.

1) Can only switch from default skin, to an alternate skin
2) May only do it once per game (ie. from default --> alt, once)
3) May only be done within the first 60 seconds of a game (To prevent you changing at 20min and making enemies confused for a sec)


The process would be similar for the courier, you press a little small button by the hero portrait in-game, and switch once before the timer hits 0:00 (First creep wave spawn), and when you switch, the "button" thing just turns grey, or disappears.

Why

I'm probably not the only one that this occurs to: many times I have not been sure what hero I want to play, and I either random, or I pick a hero at like 1 second or so, or sometimes "ghost pick" a hero, and leave him to be auto-picked. Obviously, I do not have enough time to pick an alternate avatar, thus am stuck with ugly ass default.

It seems reasonable to be able to change once, within a time frame that would impact the enemy as least as possible.

Alternate Method

If this is not possible (Having to increase resources etc and load on RAM by needing to store an extra 10+ skins to choose from) then I also suggest this as a possible other way:

In the "Options" menu, provide and area where players can choose their "default" skin.

IE I can choose "Set Default skin for Plague Rider" and, from a drop down list, select "Frost Rider".

Then, whenever I join a game and pick Plague Rider too late (ie at one second or something, or have him ghost picked and just leave him there) I will automatically load in as Frost Rider, due to the fact that the "default" skin I would like to use for Plague Rider, is, Frost Rider, and have changed it in options accordingly.

Definitely. Often finding myself thinking; "Darn, didn't get that skin on" and things like it. Seems like a good implementation.
