Hey there, i am looking for a mentor to improve my game play for higher ratings. I was about 1800 ish before compression so i am a decent player. I used to be a support but i'm now working on the * Carry * Part of the game. I can also mentor players that are around/under 1700 ish. If you need anything let me know, i'm on most of the time. Thanks guys !![]()
Good luck, but I feel you'll struggle to find someone 1800 who would be willing to mentor you as you said you were '1800ish'
know the feelingI was 1800+ then i took 10 months off... interesting coming back and seeing the metagame shift completely away from my favourite heroes... harsh... harsh. Where you from btw?
Yea, the game changed literaly from alot of points wich is kinda hard to come back lol. Im from canada
Ahh nice nice, by the way if you want to move towards carry; one of the best things you can do without mentoring is.
Go practice game go mid, with a variety of heroes and play for 10 minute. Make sure you get 95% success rate of kills and denies. If you can't do this against no-one; it'll be difficult to do it vs. someone. It seems a basic point but you control the lane movement in order to do this as if it gets to a tower, it becomes a lot harder also you're creeping will become better vs. actual people as well as you'll know animations better as well as knowing exactly when to attack.
It seems like a silly, obvious point. But every-single 1700 game i've seen for the last month, with the exception of the obvious 1900 smurf (and i mean 1900) no one is any good at last hitting mid. People are losing core items from lack of farm. If this isn't what you want, sorry but it is difficult to practice this in game and give it the attention it deserves.
Way to view this is - 2 missed ck (I mean attacking and failing to last hit) a wave, and you're losing 200g a minute... thats a ridiculously large amount due to your sheer lack of last hitting ability) 1missed ck (100g a minute)
Truth hehe, added you ingame.

I'm sure you know that getting 1 kill, is worth less than farming 2 waves... the biggest thing I noticed when playing with 1900-2000 mmr players was
a) knowing what they could (succesfully) do and what they couldn't.
and
b) efficiency.
1700's do not really appreciate time efficiency at all, theoretical example.
this is on the basis that you are on 350gpm.
If you go to gank someone and it takes a minute to get there, kill them. You've lost 350gpm - 250 (kill just say). You have lost 100g but they have as well, which there is an argument for being good and bad both ways, except if you kill carry and you are a carry.
If you need to regen you might lose another minute to regen, and tp back (350gpm+135gpm lost as well)
Thats 485 + 100 (585gold) you have lost by killing a hero. There is a reason why in many comp games the carries farm whilst the gankers/supports gank. It more often than not is just not efficient.
Imagine if you didn't even get the kill...... there are distinct roles for heroes, and people need to know what they are.
Anyway this may not be of any use to you, but these are things that 1700's just do not understand and do not do. But if you can't CK very well... then you can't do this very well either... it's a snowball.
hope it helped
