S2 is just tricking people to buy stuff. The more you buy, the more you are showing that you are a cow which S2 can milk all they want.

It's hard to say the Goblin shop is only cosmetic and optional when playing against a Shadowblade with a geometers with illusions doing 200+ bonus magic damage a hit. I know who butters your bread, but you can hardly defend that. Fact is I already paid for the game once. Yes, S2's promise of releasing a map editor with online custom games, free updates and all that was probably too optimistic. I even tolerated everything up to EA, but it occurs to me rather than practice any form of customer appreciation they would do ANYTHING to their customers to turn another buck. You may say, "Well that's business", but you forget that you are also expecting or at least hoping for us to buy S2's next game, and god forbid that I would purchase another EA riddled, cash shop infested game if they expect my money up front. You cannot gouge your customers with a free2play mindset when you already asked for retail. Let's be honest, S2 would pull any card or turn over any rock, despite customer outrage, if it would make them another dollar at this point.
I think the worst part about EA is that instead of focusing on outdated heroes in dire need of buffs such as Soul Reaper, or items such as Stormclaw, (or heck, the massively overpowered shieldbreaker rank 1) they're just going to churn out more heroes I can't play that will be summarily exploited and then fixed before I can play them.

So ... is everyone here posting a Legacy member? If not, be happy the game is now free to play. S2 no longer makes money for having people make accounts, they have to find a way to make money. Or would you rather the company go bankrupt and the game shut down? Exactly, now if you're going to complain about every single time S2 tries to make money for itself to run the game that is up and running just for you to complain, I suggest you not play this game anymore.
Alternate avatars are COMPLETELY OPTIONAL. If you don't like the prices, don't buy them, simple as that. Sure, the Early Access heroes are OP, but that's to sell them. Ever hear of creating a new hero you want to sell and make money of that is underpowered?
Also, the year just started and you're already wanting a 66% sale, and probably on silver none-the-less. Honestly, all I'm hearing in this complaints are ungrateful players that whine about something they could easily fix. Want to buy something but you don't have the silver for it? Buy gold. If you care that much about this game, then BUY the gold and purchase what you want in the shop. Don't like it? Don't play it.
I personally bought $40 worth of gold during the holiday season because I wanted the Midas. I play this game a lot, and for a limited time alternate avatar for a hero I actually play and like, it's worth it.
I for one, want to thanks S2 for the new-years sale.
I didn't really have the cashflow to buy stuff during the christmas sale, so I'm rather happy about another sale, since now maybe I could actually buy something.
I think it's sad that people cry about ''omg gold only'' since they could have also NOT given ANY sale at all, and none of this crying would've occurred.
So thank you S2, for giving me an opportunity to buy some cool stuff, with my limited cashflow.

Gold shields are the only ones allowed to complain.
The game is balanced around competitive play, which is unaffected by new heroes anyway. That's why EA doesn't matter.
As for the shark sale.. yeah, not working on silver coins is lame, but I have 150 gold coins I'll never really be able to spend. Gold prices don't go low enough. Account icons are flawed, same with chat symbols, because you can only ever use one.
Giving away a free one is like giving away a name change. Why would you use it? You picked the one you have because you like it.
The whole point is, stop giving away "Super secret surprises" that might not be super, or surprises.
Be honest about incentives, so you can see what people do or don't want. Then you won't have anyone upset.
Imagine if the 40 dollar package gave you a random bonus amount of gold coins instead of the set %? Same deal. Inappropriate.

Would be nice if I could actually buy coins. But instead I get a unable to authorize transaction. I use my card somewhere else and it works fine. S2games=sale fail
Had the same problem in game, worked on the site though.
S2 got Microsoft'd.
