It's because counter guides aren't very helpful at all for many reasons. For example:

-You need to counter their lineup, but there are over 10000 possible lineups.
-You don't always get last pick, especially in AP and stuff. In modes such as BD and BP, it's more about predicting what your opponent will pick rather than counter-picking hero by hero.

it could still give you a good indication
like if they are all magic, you take pred
or if they get a gemini, you can get an AOE stun hero (Midas, Behemoth)

Too many people worry about counterpicking to the point that it messes up your lanes. Counterpicking is fine, but you need to keep in mind not to screw yourself earlygame into a 15 cc. As for your examples, if they have an all magic team I would rather pick parasite for the gank, or monarch for the anti disables, vindicator because lol silence, or even Nomad for the snowballing on fragile heroes. Against gemini, I'd rather burst heroes or heroes with instant kill potential.

    Basic counters:
Vindicator - Combo heavy and spell dependant teams.
    Behemoth - Creep pushing teams.
    Jeraziah - counters shitload.

There are few hard counters to heroes. It's not like rock > scissors > paper

If anything it's more effective > kinda effective > less effective

And most are relatively ez to figure out on the fly.. at least the ones that might be worth counterpicking...

Worried about something like or :jera:, get
They have a very mobile/escape mech hard carry like get good, long disables and silences and/or physical disables
Worried about a , see above + get

Otherwise, you don't want to worry to much about it (i.e. if there isn't something very specific you really need to counter or someone that is really effective against what you're trying to do).. pick your own good, well balanced team with strong lanes, with heroes your comfortable playing...

You have to play every hero few times and see what heroes does counter you. Then you have to think if there are similar heroes which countered you.

Blink heroes counter gankers especially Arach, Blood Hunter, Plague, Swift as well as non-silencing, non-rooting disablers like KotF (I think).

But as others have stated, you also need to think about countering entire line-ups while also picking a team that will work well together.

Best advice i can give u is : play all heroes...learn theire weakneses and stroing sides by playing them yourself....if u play alot and play against/with all the heroes more than once u will naturally develop of sense for which heroes are good vs one another.

By playing different heroes alot u will also learn how to set up good lanes and still counter enemy key heroes. ( mid which ganks enemy all game and only him is quite effective, shouldnt bother with enemy supports unless its easy kill since is key of enemy team )

    hope that helped
