project on hold until further notice
thought id announce this lil project of mine. I'm such a big fan of Malphas, I thought i'd go ahead and make a complete hero out of him.
It made an excuse for me to figure out the mechanics and such, and I love learning all this kind of stuff.
I'm gonna make more than one version, one being with the standard model,
and maybe one or two more with other themes , eg Frost Malphas, etc.
if anyone can think of a nice way to adapt him, post here, i'm interested.

Maybe you should grab a hero from the popular suggestions and (with their consent) rework the abilities so they fit.

I would do this, but atm i'm having major problems getting the textures to work. since textures are normally stored in a seperate .s2z file, it seems I need to move the textures elsewhere, or modify the original tex files, which i'm loathe to do. i'l give it another go tonight and see how it goes.
in regards to abilities, I have my own original ideas, but, will certainly be looking at other ideas for some inspiration.

Given that HB can summon Malphas as his servant I'd advocate re-writing this guy's lore so that he is actually a demon from the same plane of hell as Malphas himself, similar to the Dreadlords of WC3, so that questions aren't asked as to why Malphas and his doppleganger are on the battlefield at the same time.
You said you're having problems with texture files, are they tga and not dds and did you edit all the approproate files associated?
Looks like you're missing the .material file in your hero's folder. I made a bunch of custom heroes for personal use before so if you want my help with anything just PM me.
real life has screwed up the amount of time I have to do this unfortunately. I'm gonna leave it on hold until the map editor appears I think. When it can actually be used in a game mode, it'l definately see completion though, as I have a nice amount of ideas for custom scenario's that I want to see the light of day.
