I'm thinking a banana-throwing gorilla alt for! His ulti totally fits, and it would be fun to throw bananas at your foes! Kinda similar looking to Donkey Kong
! I kinda like it cept... hammerstorm isn't ranged so he would only throw it when he stuns

Yeah, he would just throw with a stun, but he could just use a banana for his weapon, or fists would be fine too. I think mashing people's brains out close-range with a banana would be equally satisfying.Originally Posted by ChillyWater

Sounds awesome, I would buy it! I think though that if it looked too much like kong people might complain that it isn't a new model.

Again an avatar that would be nice but it just has nothing to do with Hammer :/. Perhaps try coming up with a new hero based on this design?
Why does it need to have anything to do with his hammer?? I'm pretty sure "alternate" = something different. Do you have any specific suggestions??
Because if it has nothing to do with Hammer, people will not recognize it as Hammer and not buy it. Notice how some of the best, most commonly used alternative avatars (Crustacean Kraken, Legendary Valk, Female Pyro/Glac, Grim Reaper etc.) are very strongly recognizable as their base hero or have a clear link to it.
Hammer and a gorilla share no link safe for being butch, but in that case this particular "alternative" could as well be used for other heroes (Wildsoul throwing bananas, Behemoth with a giant banana, Rampage riding a gorilla whilst holding a giant banana, the list goes on) and that's no good. You don't want an alternative to be just as good for any other hero, you'll want it to be awesome and make sense for that particular hero alone.
Suggestions involving turning Hammer into a Gorilla? No. Hammer is pretty characteristic on his own, other than Helga Hammerstorm there really isn't much you can do with his concept or name. You could try to think of a mount for him (one that makes sense for Hammerstorm, mind) but that's about it.
