No. I don't want to to hear sex sounds when i'm playing HoN. Plus you have to account for the little kids who play this game.

The HoN community *in-game* is little better then the 4chan community in that it's over run with racists, trolls, and people who at the base level are just jerks or bullies.

I can't think of a single game I've played with at least one racial slur, or derogatory comment being hurled towards someone whether by the winners the losers, your own team or the enemy team.

I doubt this announcer pack has something more inappropriate then anything being said in game via push to talk or in the text chat channels.

That being said I'm not really I'm not really in favor of the pack nor can i say i hate it.

I wouldn't say it objectifies women merely panders to the forever alone players, if the people against it would take the time to check out a few posts and the people posting them.
I'm sure they would come to realize that it's a big joke. ...(To the rest of us.)

Yes, it is a easy and effective marketing strategy males make up the majority of the gaming community, and that makes the content of most games one-sided in most cases and until there is a massive change in the gaming community or a innovative company exec decides to take it upon themselves to create some change they will undoubtedly pander to one side of the community.

Considering the amount of "no" votes on this suggestion (and I'm amazed it's in Tier1 regardless), I don't think they'd be making a good move. Especially considering their already growing reputation of having one of the worst online gaming communities.

These were the votes before the section got reorganized. So your argument that it has gotten so many "no" votes is invalid. Keep in mind that this thread just suggested the idea. The lines given were made up just for examples.

OK, first off, there are plenty of HoN players that are kids or at least share a room with a kid, be it their younger siblings or their own children.

Secondly, for some strange reason many people deem violent scenes are acceptable, but yet sex scenes are totally unacceptable for their children. Whether or not you agree with this standard does not matter because in the end, unless you work for the CPS, you have no right to dictate what other people want to filter or expose their children to. And kids, depend on their parents to buy them games, but the parents aren't gonna pay anything if they don't think HoN is appropriate for their kid.

And after reading everyone's inputs, the only way I can see this idea working is if the announcer ONLY did sexy whispers and NOT any loud climaxing orgasm screams. Feroci0us should consider closing this thread and redoing this suggestion as a sexy whisper announcer. As Barbara Walters once said: "Don't confuse being stimulating with being blunt."

And this time, don't make any of her lines too "over the top" or else this so-called "sexy" announcer is just gonna sound silly & ridiculous. This would be like you hanging out with your friends and then suddenly your GRANDMA is like "OH GOD! OH GOD! YES! GIVE IT TO ME! YES! GIVE IT TO ME HARDER! OOOOHH SSSHHHHHIIIITTT!!!" Even if your intention is to make this announcer silly & ridiculous, the joke is gonna get old pretty quick.

A bit uncalled for, wouldn't you say? He wasn't being rude to you. I'm fully willing to listen to pro-arguments for this suggestion if they're mature enough, though I've haven't actually read many of those yet.

This thread got more "yes"-votes because the lines are far less over-the-top slutty. I know the lines in this OP were only suggestions, but they're not doing the suggestion any good. I'm still not for the announcer, but if they're keeping the lines playful/suggestive rather than downright pornographic I wouldn't be bothered as much.

There is a seductive male announcer: Flamboyant pack. Why does it have to be seductive towards women? How about the Badass pack? You don't think that's as stereotypically "MAN" possible? As for the pack itself.. I think it needs to be more abrasive than the suggested lines. It needs to be harder on the other team. "You wish you were as good as this guy" kinda stuff. Simply being seductive doesn't provide good enough mind games.
