The most common meat I eat is Turkey.

And we don't even have thanksgiving here.

Don't complain, you should have already eaten on Remembrance day, and then, well, the Eureka Anniversary is coming up, I like celebrating that, and then of course Christmas, then New Years, then Australia day, plenty of oppurtunties to eat!

Does anyone outside the US celebrate thanksgiving? I don't understand why the internet cares so much about a holiday 95% of the world doesn't even celebrate.

    Canada?

And in theory, all over the world are "similar" festivals around this time, they just usually aren't holidays.

As said, Canada (but it's a way different time of year) but you have to deal with it YA, the Web may not have been an American invention, but those people clog the lines up. Of course tones of weird holidays are going to be massively celebrated (Halloween, 4th of July, Thanksgiving) while everything else is forgotten. Because of this, we all end up with a basic understanding of American custom, and that's about it. I doubt anyone will know what the Eureka Stockade is and when we celebrate it (well, maybe only I celebrate it, but it did happen in my city, so local pride!).

Hey I know about the Eureka Stockade - well, sort of! I was up the Eureka Tower buying overpriced drinks and I asked the cashier why the Eureka Tower had a stupid name. She explained that because my country was being a dick at the time some miners got angsty and had a little revolution, and then there was some democracy for some reason.

The British version of Thanksgiving is the Harvest Festival but it's not celebrated much outside of small villages and practising Church of England denominations. TBH i wouldn't mind celebrating thanksgiving here in the UK because it's an excuse to eat a massive turkey.

Your country is always a dick, I don't know how you can stand to live there, and Eureka is a fine, fine name, thank you very much. AND IT IS THE BIRTHPLACE OF AUSTRALIAN DEMOCRACY!
