[unfinished] Ultimate GameGuide for Average Players

Hello everyone! I'd like to present you today my first guide.

    1. Introduction

    >>Unfinished yet<<

This Guide is no specific guide about a section like a hero, it's an overall guide every player should read, regardless of the fact if he rates himself noob - experienced or "pro". Furthermore I apologize for all grammar mistakes I'm doing, because their not perfect. Nevertheless i think all of you will understand me & my intention of this guide.

    2. Game preparations

There are many guides out there trying to teach you how to win games with a special hero, a special tactic or something else.

But how good are the best tactics or the greatest skills with a single
carry when you didn't do any "game preparations"?

2.1 Figure out your own mood

Before you wanna start a game you should figure out your own mood.

    Ask you the following question:

"Am i angry at the moment about something?"

"Do i wanna play for fun now or play serious?"

    My suggestion to you:

Don't play Matchmaking while you're raging or if you don't wanna play serious at all.

Why?: Because nobody needs someone in the team who is raging about his teammates doing mistakes or who isn't taking the game serious. Actually, people play MMR to win a game. If you want to have some fun only, play nostats or join a "only-mid game".

    3. The game mode

Your mind is clear for a new match? Ok, let's get ready - but wait...

    What mode should i play?

    My Suggestion to you:

    Never
play "All Pick" if you can avoid it.

Why?: Because in All Pick you will find the most players trying to play their own game.

Heroes of Newerth is, just like DOTA was, a teamgame.

Who didnt already rushed into a team picking 5 meeles, 5 carrys, 2-3 junglers, + or something else.

    You can avoid this!

Play the following modes only: Random Draft, Banning Pick.

If you really want to improve your skills join into this modes. Some people will maybe ask me now - Why didn't you mention Single Draft & All Random?

Well... All Random is a terrible mode in my opinion. It should be played by guys which are new to the game and want to improve their experience in new heroes. All Random is, mostly, all about luck which team is getting the better setup. With this Guide im trying to avoid any kind of "luck". You shouldn't lose a game before it didn't start yet.

Single Draft is kinda the same like All Pick. The people try to avoid swaps in many times and pick the heroes they want to play. Often you end up in the case of a 2-3 hardcarry team and lose the game due to a negligence of support-picking.

    Banning Pick & BD(Ra
ndom Draft) are much more about skills. You end up in better teams & often get better teammates. People have more time to think about their setup and you can ban Gamecarrying or unbalanced heroes.

3.1 Which heroes should i ban?

The decision of hero-banning is very important and can already give an advantage to the opposite team.

1st Example: Theirs an unbalanced hero in the game like "Amun-Ra" (I'd actually rate him as unbalanced at the moment, you don't have to agree with me here though.)

=> If the enemy team is starting with the banning and you don't ban the hero, the % chance is high that the opposite team will pick the unbalanced hero to provide their own team an "unfair" game advantage.
    How you should really ban:

Im listing now several heroes that are actually banned in top-gear games or I rate as must-bans.

    Amun-Ra
Hellbringer (Not so important anymore after his nerf)
Plague Rider (Great Teamfight Potential Ultimate & Lane Support)
Kraken (By far one of the best teamfight ultimates existing in the game)
Magmus (Great Teamfight Potential Ultimate, Lane Support, Roamer)
    Behemoth [see magmus]
Myrmidon (Great Gank/Roam Potential & Lane Support)
    Jeraziah (Ultimate)
    Rhapsody (Ultimate)
    Thunderbringer (Ultimate)
    Rampage (Gank Potential/Roamer)
    Silhouette
    Succubus (Insanely underestimated Supporter)
    Torturer (Stun/Pusher/Roamer/Gank Potential)
    Parasite (Gank Potential/Roamer)
    Hammerstorm (100% Stun - Gank Potential/Roamer)
    Tempest (Ultimate)

Nevertheless, don't forget, this is just my opinion I'm suggesting you to follow & there are of course also other heroes you can ban.

    4. The Game begins - Hero Picks & Setup
After you did pick your game mode and the bans have been done its time to think about your setup.

I wont give you any setup now that is "THE WINNING SETUP". Forget about that, because such a setup is not exists.

Nevertheless, there are several Setups that are very strong and common because their Synergy is very high.

(Synergy = Heroes fit together in Combos and so on, EX: Hammer, Nymph)

I suggest you a setup like this:

    1 Hardcarry (MAXIMUM!)
1 Hardtank (Like Kraken - optional)
3 Supportive Teamheroes (Nymph,Magmus and so on)

A team doesn't needs more than one Hardcarry. Why? Because its him trying to carry you trough the game and it should be only him.

Simply logic: The more carrys you have, the more farm they will take from eachother => reducing their power.

=> Never pick a hero which role is already filled in your setup!
Example: Player 1: Magebane - Your Pick: Chronos

A Good Teamsetup is the one of the KEY-ELEMENTS!! in winning a game.
The most games in public games (especially "all pick") because the setup of one team is simply horrible.

    5. Game Guide - "Pre-creepspawn preparation"

After the picks have been done and you joined the game the "pre-creepspawn time started". This is the time you have until the first creeps spawn on your lane.

Many players waste this time by buying wrong items and going on their lane. This is how you should do it:

    5.1 Items

At the first lets talk about your starter items.

In Normal Modes (All Pick, Single Draft, Random Draft & Banning Pick) you have 603 Gold!

In All Random you already have 853 Gold! Keep this in mind!

In Normal Modes you should only pick Items that fit to your hero role!

    Meele Carry:

If you're playing meele hardcarry, you should always pick up
:LoggersHatchet: & :IronBuckler: & some Regeneration :HealthPotion::RunesOfTheBlight:. ALWAYS!

Loggers Hatchet is definitely underestimated by many players. The +32% creep damage provides you perfect lasthitting. But this is not all. The most incredible part is Tree cutting.

Tree cutting allows you to survive ganks by juking your enemys or initiate ganks by clearing some trees allowing you to take another path.

    Range Carry:

If you're playing range hardcarry, you should always pick up atleast 2
:MinorTotem: to finish your :PowerSupply:, & regeneration :RunesOfTheBlight:+:ManaPotion:. The remaining gold is optional for extra damage to improve lasthitting.

Nevertheless my suggestion is to you, (if no supporter will buy one), to get a :RingOfTheTeacher:. This little sweet thing provides you +6 dmg & an Aura for your team +0,65manareg & +3 armor. If you pick up this ring, don't forget to turn off the aura for creeps, unless you don't want to push in early game.

    Tank Items:

    Atleast 1x
:IronBuckler:, 2x :MinorTotem: & regeneration :RunesOfTheBlight: + :ManaPotion:.

(If you're playing you can also pick up 2x
    :IronBuckler: & regeneration :RunesOfTheBlight

    Supporter:

This is the most important role & many players fail their starter items.

KEY ITEMS all supporters should get at the beginning of a game are:

    Atleast 1-2 Wards.
    :WardOfSight:

Wards are the 2nd key element in winning a game to become a better player. Wards can be used to

    -initiate ganks
    -see incoming ganks
    -block creepspawns in the forest
    & more.

Every good supporter knows this & you will never become a better player if you dont understand this.
If you are the only Supporter in your team, get atleast 2 Wards.

Give atleast 1 Ward to the non-carry lane (Legion Team = TOP, Hellbourne = BOT), and the other lane to the Carry Lane.

Furthermore the supports shouldnt buy any components for their core items (like :TalismanOfExile: for manaring
:RingOfSorcery: or boots :Marchers: for striders :stri

Supporters should pick up their Wards and LOTS OF Regeneration stuff only.

A good supporter starter Item setup looks like this:

    2x Wards
:WardOfSight: , 6x Runes of Blight :RunesOfTheBlight: , 2x Mana Potion :ManaPotion: , 1x Health Potion :HealthPotion:. (580 Gold).

    Wards of Revelation
:WardOfRevelation: can't be bought anymore at the start of the game.
Nevertheless they are as important as the Wards of Revelation
:WardOfSight: are, because you can counter the wards of the opposite Team.

    5.2 Positioning & Early Ganks

It's not always the best Idea to buy your start items and move to your favorite lane.

Good game positioning before the creeps spawn is a good tactic to early gank the enemy team going for a BLOODLUST.

If you have a slower like and a stunner like a kill is guarranted. Nevertheless, don't forget that you get attacked by the enemy creeps as soon you target them with target-attack.

Spells won't trigger the attack of the enemy creeps focusing you.

    6. Stacking

There are many Creepstacking guides out there so i make this quick.

Creepstacking is a way an efficient way to improve the possibility to pull creeps from your lane into the jungle to deny your own creeps, or to improve your wood-farming gold with heroes like .

I took this screenshot from honwiki.net(google) to explain you the way how to stack creeps.

This is a very good screenshot because it shows many elements you can do in one way.

The mechanism works like this: Creeps spawn every minute at 1:00, 2:00 and so on.

How to stack the creeps: Creeps will instantly stack on the spawning minute if there are no other units, wards or corpses near the creepspawn.

=> If you killed only one creep at 0:40 inside the spawn or later you cant stack anymore, because the corpse will block the creepstacking.
(Tip: Balphagore is the only hero who can abuse this problem by using his passive ability to eat corpses healing himself)

Solution => Pull the creeps for singlestacking at x:54-55 out of the creepspawn as legionnaire is doing it in the screenshot. Make sure there aren't any other units, corpses or wards inside the spawn.

    Doublestack or TripleStacking:

You can also double or even triplestack, but this requires much more timing and skills. Dont worry if its not working at the first time you're trying it.

In the Picture above Legionnaire is showing the way how to triplestack!
But this is nearly impossible without boots and if you're not a ranged hero/ have a loggers hatchet.

Pull the creeps at x:51 from Spawn Nr1(in the picture) and pull them instantly down to the 2nd Spawn. Cut one tree(better you do that before) and pull the creeps outside to the 3rd spot! Now attack the 3rd spawn (loggers, ranged) and pull them outside down the landscape. If you did everything right, 3 Creepspawns have been stacked. If not, don't worry, its very difficult

READ!: S2Games changed the pull time of the creeps times ago, so im not quite sure if triple stacking is still possible without the usage of a :Portalkey:

    FAQ:
I did pull the creeps outside the spawn but there aren't any other visibile wards, units or corpses inside it. BUG??

    A:
You can't see the enemy wards if you have no Revelation Ward. Revelation Wards can be bought in the shop for 100gold and also block the creepspawn. Many times in high-ranked games the opposite team places the ward inside the trees so you cant see them just by placing a rev-ward near it. Keep this in mind!

    Earlygame-Midgame
Fulfill my role & Win the Game!

Coming up between the Nov. 24-28

If you're gonna continue this you should remember that most people requiring such a guide in the near future will suffer from F2P and have no choice but to play AP and are unable to pick any hero at any time.

thats a section i will go into later on. i didn't have much time today to finish my whole guide because it will be very long. the next part of the guide will follow up tomorrow.

nevertheless i agree with you, that i didn't mention yet the F2P accounts that don't have all the heroes they can play yet, thats why i wrote "if you're able to avoid all pick"

    Thanks for the reply though,

please don't say things like ALWAYS. it's almost never true. let's say you are mid with magebane vs some melee (devourer for example), why would you buy a shield? stats will give you more!

and you should tone down on all the color changes, they make people (me)!
