    [D2L-2] Siegfried

    A while ago, I made the hero, Jack Bombadil, for Skyve's first contest. While I liked his first two skills and the combos inherent in the hero, I feel like he was held back by the limitations placed on heroes for the contest.

    After considering his skills, here is his second version.

    Siegfried is a support/ganker that specializes in combining his skills to disable his enemies for long amounts of time.

    Added this hero to Melto's Second Draft to Life contest. The third skill is the required combo skill.

    Siegfried


    -Story-

    The court Magician to Maliken and then Jereziah. After the Hellborne were released, he spied on the Legion's plans for a time before being caught and executed. However, the Hellborne had promised him eternal life for his betrayal. Now, he stalks the Legion using ilusions and other tricks concocted from his mad intellect to exact his revenge.

    -Golden Lure-
    (Q)
    Description:
    Siegfried plants an illusion of a Pile of Gold drawing his enemies in only to have it explode in their faces.

    Type: Magic
    Affects: Enemy Units
    Range: 350
    Radius (explosion):250
    Radius (Baited!): 300/350/400/450
    Cast Time: 0.9 seconds
    Mana Cost: 100/120/140/160
    Cooldown: 16.0 seconds
    Required Levels: 1/3/5/7

    Activation {Q}:
    Places a Golden Lure at the target location. The Golden Lure has 1hp, lasts 3 seconds, and applies Baited! to all enemies in a 300/350/400/450 radius. The Golden Lure is destroyed and Baited! ends if an enemy touches it or destroys it. When the Lure is destroyed, all enemies in a 250 radius take 100/170/240/310 magic damage.

    -Juggling Ball-
    (W)
    Description:
    Siegfried throws one of his Juggling balls at the target enemy dealing magic damage to the enemy and pushing it away from Siegfried. The Ball continues to bounce among all nearby units dealing damage to enemies and pushing anyone it touches away from the last bounce.

    Type: Magic
    Affects: Enemy Units, Jack Bombadil, or the Golden Lure.
    Range: 450 units
    Cast Time: 0.6 seconds
    Mana Cost: 80/95/110/125
    Cooldown: 21.0/18.0/15.0/12.0 seconds
    Required Levels: 1/3/5/7

    Activation {W}:
    Throws a Juggling Ball at the target. The Ball pushes the Target 200 units away from Siegfried and deals 40/50/60/70 magic damage. The Juggling Ball can bounce up to an additional 2/4/6/8 times to the closest unit within a 500 radius dealing 50/60/70/80 magic damage to enemies and pushing any unit struck 250 units away from the last person hit by the ball. Every other bounce, the Juggling Ball strikes the original target.

    Notes:
    If no units are within 500 units of the original target upon a bounce, the skill ends prematurely.
    Deals 80/150/240/350 magic damage to the original target.
    The order of bounce and pushes will be:
    Bounce | Target | Push
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    0th | Original target | pushes away from Siegfreid.
    1st | Closest target within 500 units | pushes away from original.
    2nd | Original Target | pushes away from previous.
    3rd | Closest target within 500 units | pushes away from original.
    And so on and so for till the Ball bounces 8 times.

    (E)
    Description:
    Siegfried launches the target into the air, stunning him/her and giving the target invulnerablity.

    Type: Magic
    Affects: All Units and the Golden Lure
    Range: 500 units
    Cast Time: 0.5 seconds
    Mana Cost: 50/60/70/80
    Cooldown: 6.0 seconds
    Required Levels: 1/3/5/7

    Activation {E}:
    Siegfried launches his target into the air for 0.5/0.75/1.0/1.25 seconds stunning them and granting them invulnerability.

    If the the target is hit by a Juggling Ball while being Bounced, the target is pushed an additional 200/300/400/500 units.

    Notes:
    -Can be cast on Golden Lure to have the aoe stun persist for an extra second.
    -Can be cast on self or allies to negate damage.
    -If the target is hit by a juggling ball, the net push will be 400/500/600/700 units.

    -Smoke and Mirrors-

    (R)
    Description:
    Siegfried's very presence messes with the minds of his enemies making objects appear closer than they really are.


    Radius: 1000 units
    Required Levels: 6/11/16

    Passive:
    All enemies in a 1000 unit radius have a 6%/8%/10% chance to miss upon attack and their single target abilities and Ranged Attacks have thier range decreased by 100/200/300 units. Ranges cannot be reduced under 100 units.

    Does not affect ground targeting abilities like Pyro's Stun or Melee Attacks.

    Updates:
    -Golden Lure:
    >Increased the mana cost to 100/120/140/160 from 80/100/120/140.
    >The Golden Lure now lasts 3 seconds max.
    >Increased the damage of the explosion to 100/170/240/310 magic damage from 60/120/180/240.
    -Juggling Ball:
    >Increased the mana cost to 80/95/110/125 from 80/90/100/110.
    >Increased the cool down to 21.0/18.0/15.0/12.0 seconds from 20.0/17.0/14.0/11.0.
    >Increased the damage per bounce to 40/50/60/70 magic damage from 45/50/55/60.
    >Decreased the push to 200 units from 250.
    -Bounce:
    >Decreased the cooldown to 6.0 seconds from 12.0/10.0/8.0/6.0 seconds.
    >Increased the mana cost to 50/60/70/80 from 50.
    >Tweaked the Bounce time to 0.5/0.75/1.0/1.25 seconds from 0.7/0.8/0.9/1.0 seconds.
    >Removed the aoe magic damage after the bounce.
    >Increased the strength of the push if hit by a Juggling Ball to 200/300/400/500 units from 200 units.
    -Smoke and Mirrors
    >Added a chance to miss attacks of 6%/8%/10%.

    Comments:
    This is just my standard second pass through of my hero to tweak his skills to be better balanced and work better togethor.
    The changes to Golden Lure are intended to increase the risk/reward of the skill. I also gave the lure a life time to avoid any obscene stun times when combined with Juggling Ball and Bounce.
    Juggling Ball's magic damage was increased because I removed the magic damage on Bounce. The mana cost was increased because of how strong the skill is as a single target disable.
    Bounce was reworked. I removed the aoe damage because it did not fit the flavour of the skill. I decreased the cool down so the user would feel less burdened at the start in choosing between to use the skill offensively or defensively. Consequently, the starting duration was decreased and the ending duration was increased.
    The % chance to miss was added to Smoke and Mirrors because it was Up beforehand.

    Q= original. But does it work like Legio's taunt? You place it and enemy heroes in XXX radius will run straight to it? What happens if you place it and enemy heroes are at max radius of AOE, however a creep was like right next to it? Like basically on top of it? Does baited effect immediately stop to enemies still lured to it? I think having it affect hero only is better, but then again too strong for non-ulti.
    W= cool
    E= my fav skill!!! Synergizes with other skills and its so versatile. If you do it on yourself or ally, does not stun right? What happens if you use it on ally who is channeling? Does it interrupt? E.g. Ally tp'Ing with low hp and you save him by using it and he'll be channeling his tp in midair. Dat wud be so funnn
    R= is this a passive? O.o put duration please. Idk about this skill. Cant say for sure if its balanced or not.

    First of all you need to fix your link:

    Q = Yes, this skill works similarly to Legionaire's Taunt. Baited stops the second the Lure is destroyed and explodes, so the lure will explode immediately if a creep or hero is standing on its starting position. The reason for this is to encourage skillful placement of the lure.

    E = Think of this skill as shorter version of Stormspirit. So like Stormspirit, it would interrupt channels like teleportation stones. Like Lure, the reason for this is to encourage skillful use of this skill.

    Some fun combos for Bounce:
    -Run behind an enemy cast Bounce+Juggling Ball to push the enemy into your allies.
    -While being chased by enemies, Cast Juggling Ball on the closest enemy then bounce on yourself to "blink" away from the chasing enemies.

    R = Yes, this is a passive. And I agree that I have no real clue on the balance of this skill. Against certain heroes (Pollywog Priest, Andromeda) this skill can be devastating, but against others worthless.

    Publish on dream plox. Its a shame suggestion isnt very popular and whenever im looking at hero drafts, has 1 or 2 members and 1 guest... I mean there is alot of work and originality in this subforum, im sure S2 can make more community heroes in the future. Gauntlet + Bomb are so awesome. Necro is... nvm. As a mod do you know any future plans for Suggestions? Xanderk has said hes planning on stuff :/

    I love the first three skills and the amount of utility and mayhem they can make. Juggling Ball together with Kraken ult or Tempest ult strikes me as very amusing and possibly dangerous for both teams :P Golden Lure might be a bit on the OP side, but it's also needs very good placement to be so, so I dont think thats a problem. From the first three skills, this hero seems so much fun to play.

    However, the ultimate feels really ham-fisted in. Changing the range of skills is very dangerous ground, as most skills are finely balanced around just that. Might be it can work nicely and it surely makes games more interesting, but I dont feel it like I do with the other skills, if you know what I mean :P

    Maybe make a skill that turns a target enemy hero into something that every enemy wants to be away from, something like a AoE damage around target enemy or something to that effect? Or maybe a ticking time-bomb on them so you can fling him into his own team with Bounce and Juggling Ball. Something like that. Anywho, it's your hero and this is just my ideas. This hero is very novel and interesting none the less

    I do not want to add in another activatable ability because each one of the activateble skills play like 2-3 different skills depending on how you use them. Therefore, the ult needs to be more of a passive playstyle skill.

    The idea behind the ult is to be a counter to ranged semi-carries who skirt the edge of team fights in a similar way to how Vindicator's aura screws up Chain Castors. The other purpose is to cause the enemy to cluster up due to the compression from the shortened range, so that Juggling Ball and Golden Lure could be used more effectively.

    I reduced the range on Golden Lure to 350 units, Juggling Ball to 450 units, and Bounce to 500 units to increase the synergy these skill have with the Clustering Effect of Smoke and Mirrors.

    Aaaah, I understand it better now and I see in the notes it does not work on target ground spells, which makes it far less troublesome. Isnt it sensible that the hero needs higher str-gain then, as he probably needs to be in the middle of the fray to utilize his passive to its full potential? Or maybe you want him to be as squishy as Vindicator and the skill lies in skirting the perimeter of the battle like the semi-carries you are countering? :P

    The miss chance on the ulti seems kind of out of place, maybe make it so that enemy heroes have a larger chance to miss, the further away from Siegfried they are?

    This hero is squishy for 2 reasons:
    1) This hero has 3 different CC options.
    2) Like you mentioned, he is supposed to skirt the edges of fights like Vindicator.

    I added the miss chance to round out the skill as the range reduction was very specific in its effectiveness in certain situations and useless outside of them. If I changed the miss chance as you suggested, I would have it scale up the closer they are to Siegfried to better fit with the idea of the ult as a whole.
