    Lightbulb Time limited matchmaking

    Hello!

    For sure I am not only one who have sometimes limited time to play HoN and I am very often not sure if i am able to finish game in time.

    So I just had idea.

    Time Limited Matches

    The length of the match is pretermined:
    • Matchmaking Games will be fixed (30 minutes)
    • Public Games will be selectable by host from multiple options (20, 30, 40 minutes)


    Winner is determined by:
    • Throne destroyed
    • Team concede
    • Team with most points at end of time limit


    Hypothetical Points system:
    • Hero Kills
      • -1 point per allied hero death
      • 2 points per enemy hero kill
    • Building kills
      • 3 points per tier 1 tower
      • 4 points per tier 2 tower
      • 5 points per tier 3 (base) tower
      • 5 points per tier 4 (shrine) tower
      • 10 points per Melee Barracks
      • 10 points per Ranged Barracks
    • Team Experience
      • 1 point per hero level, team combined
    • Team Gold
      • 1 point per 100 gold/min, team combined, rounded down


    Example:
    • Legion: 2 towers destroyed, 19 kills, 14 deaths, hero levels 12/10/10/11/9, combined 1050 gold/min
      • 92 points
    • Hellbourne: 4 towers destroyed, 14 kills, 19 deaths, hero levels 11/11/9/9/10, combined 1210 gold/min
      • 84 points
    • RESULT: Legion wins! (hero kill and level advangage beat out tower and gold advantage)


    Benefits:
    • Very active games within a limited time
    • Players on a schedule can plan ahead and not have to leave early


    Note: Stats would be recorded on an independent tab, similar to casual and normal mode matchmaking.

    Sounds like a good idea to be honest, but ofc s2 needs to give it the touch of gold.

    Give this guy a 1+ symbol for this

    Add the average gpm/xpm per team. Most of the games I spectate the xpm/gpm decides the game very early on in the game. Could also be a desicive factor.

    Don't like the overall idea very much, I would rather just finish my game instead of buying wards all game and tryharding to win the game by time instead of killing the shrine.

    Holding my vote for now.

    Added these points for wards because wards are very usefull especialy while early ganking and it would help your team alot. This whole concept is about playing early game which i love so much becouse its more about skill then about farm + limited max time so you know for sure when game will ends.¨

    Hm... I think the meta game of HoN is based on pushing towers (with all the minions/extra base dmg etc.), and about ganking. Ganking is obviously early game, get your advantage over lane early on. DotA is more about farming/ricing and less focussed on ganking particurarly.

    dats just it, this mod will force all players to play active since start of the game so more early teamfights, ganks, counterganks, mroe tp use, more wards needed .. just push/gank game without 50min afk farming

    If S2 would get some work in to tjis I think it would work really nice,
    But it should be more XP and gold increase since its a limited time game
    So I think we would end up in a casual x2

    The problem is that changing the goal of the game changes the balance of a game, and could quite easily lead to degenerate strategies.

    read full post, u think casual doesnt change stragies and so on? and yes this mode u have to play diferently... thats the case rofl

    why give -1 point for death and +2 for kill instead of straight up +3 for a kill?
    Math isnt your strong side then why even try and invent some point system that has no balance?

    Probably coz there are other reasons for giving points like GPM,tower push..

    So when any team feed constantly coz they are pushing and sacrificing their life for it, it making them unable to win this way when opponents are able to kill them few times while deffing.

    So i guess thats the reason.

    Your idea would be legit only when everyone would have same amount of kills/deaths.

    30 minutes, that's some legit logic right there. Inb4 hard carries are no longer valid.
