Watch streams and solo mid. Honestly once I started demanding mid and being extremely aggressive, I pulled off bloodlust almost every game and won mid, that boosted my confidence as a player and I generally found myself more willing to follow through on ganks and initiation, and coming out on top.

As for streams, I like Moon's stream because he talks to himself a lot which is sometimes useful advice, and also he is hilarious at times.

Watching tournament/league streams really helped me see how drastically different HoN is to LoL. With that said, I've thrown away everything I learned in LoL and started from scratch here.

Aside from that, not giving up when we are losing the lane, and figuring out what I am personally doing wrong. Last night I went 0/5/1 with Witch Slayer due to getting underleveled and getting denied hard against SR and Rhapsody, but still, I managed to climb out of that hole and be useful come teamfights. Ended up 5/10/14. Not the best score, yes, but the rest of the time I was warding all over the map, and aggressive ones at that.

In beta I used to click everything...
I quit playing because I could not react fast enough (because I clicked)
Then I moved to World of Warcraft, where I was forced to use and make my own key binds or you'd never learn how to play. After 6 months I left WoW from boredom, came back to HoN and realized how hon has around 15 main keys where as my WoW characters had around 50
Sum it all up I got better when I used the keyboard properly (from 800 - 1650s)

learning that 100g for a ****ing ward is worth it, even if your team is rampage magebane night hound maliken armadon

also before you die press brd and brt if you have low gold
learn the hotkeys for expensive items and buy them before you die - i usually die with 0 gold unless im saving up for something that i really need

the things ive learned to get higher than 1600's:
    realising im not good
under 1600 assume nothing of your team and concentrate on ur own game
map awareness!! take a look at the mini map in between every last hit
quickly suming up a situation instead of ramboing in to die with the rest of my team
    carry tp's
try not to rage / flame people on ur own team.... and to a lesser extent the other team :P
learning to use hotkeys for courier and shift quing to send it back
    * still only use shift quing for courier would like to improve that but seems too slow to hold down alt + shift + key for items like PK.. offtopic

Realizing that items are worth it, as well as not buying boots for Flint Beastwood as the first thing, because you can run away with boots, but you are a glass cannon, as I have read on strategy guides. HC stones are useful if you need to get there quick. Map Awareness took me from 0-20-1 to a game in which I got 3-10-5

You will also not get better by beating yourself up often. I play the tenor saxophone in marching band and two other ensembles, and I don't put myself down when I miss a note or a rest: instead, I own up to it and try to correct it. No matter if your team tells you to never play HoN again or praises you, just try your best!

are there streams available for Flint Beastwood?

Carrying at least 1, if not 2 tp's on me at all times.

Good item-builds and learning how to ward and counterward(map awareness for 'free')

The band director in middle school way-back-when used to tell us "if you're gonna make a mistake, make a loud mistake"

To learn how to play hon you firstly need to play 500+ games to consider yourslef a better player. second you have to watch clips with people playing. ( to learn new tricks ) and always give your best for the team. remember : even if u are a carry, usually ganking is better than farming creeps because you create a difference between you and your enemy

That ain't so bad for Witch or pretty much anyone playing support, you could even start 5-1 and end up 5-10 if the game goes too long

Developing my spider senses, i dont need to look at the minimap i do it subconscious and i get a bad feeling if a lot of enemies are missing or there is a change in the playstyle of the enemy hero/es in my lane.

Never going into a game with a set hero I want to play in mind. Being flexible is the key to winning pubs. Nothing is as silly as some guy thinking he can carry the team to victory by picking sw after the team already has 2 carries/semi-carries.

Studying pro players. Just keep your eyes and mind open, learn how they make their decisions.
