    when teamplay fails you

I'm curious what character people tend to lean towards when they can tell their team is going to be blatantly incompetent - either by speaking some foreign language, ignoring everything you ask, making horrid picks, or having horrid kda/psr.

What chars are your best bet for being effective without needing your team to contribute much?

I was figuring pyromancer is a good choice and started working on learning him better. He's able to solo gank, doesn't have to be in the front lines so unlikely to get killed when your team decides to run around like chickens w heads cut off in a teamfight, hes got AoE so he does his part, he can make use of runes with bottle (this is debatable, sometimes these teams just ninja runes without bottle anyways), and he's got the stun to help him get away when things look ugly. The short CD on spells is nice too because you can cast, back up, wait 5s, cast again unlike 20s CD type heroes who get 1 chance to do something and are inclined to stay in to get their kill.

Arachna also worked pretty good for this situation I found, but usually newb team already has 3+ agility chars on it.

For STR Id probably say pestilence for the escape abilities and late game carry?

Uhh, I suppose you would go with a carry. But then, it's quite unsure if your team will even survive long enough for you to dominate as a carry. Usually when I see such a situation, I try to pick up a top-tier hero to somehow help the situation: Behemoth, Magmus, Jera. Heroes that, even when alone, can do massive damage and get kills.

Just pick something can is strong all game. Swiftblade is a good example. Great laning/farming early game, and transitions into a great carry.

Pyro is good if you can dominate mid lane and then constanly gank the sides to force a level imbalance in the team. Pest is also very strong because he can start ganking very early and becomes a powerhouse if fed late game. Swiftblade falls into the same category. The ability to kill 1 person everytime your ulti is up is extremely powerful if you can always get the kill. The downside to pest and swiftblade is that they shouldn't be solo mid. I'd say the best characters are ones that can solo mid efficiently and gank often. Valkyrie is another character that comes to mind but I have seen very few valkyries skilled enough to do this. In pub stomps arachna works well, but I find her lack of movespeed and attack damage early game to be rather meh.

Pyro is horrible if your team sucks. OK GZ you can get 12 kills. But then what? some fed carry kills you and GG's your team. And you can only sit by and rage while your m8's shout: "ru ru ru" etc. Get Pestilence for carry control and dominance 1v1 against any hero. Or madman for carry farming. Last but not least, Swift. Not because he is good early ( he is a squishy melee -> alas horrible, only noobs kill early w/ swift) but because you can, with Post Haste boots farm infinitely imba items and kill the whole other team.

I'm a big fan of Rider (Lich) for a game I know is going to be fail.

Basically, he is a farm machine with his mana-kill ability, and I prioritise this in my levelling (after Ulti of course).

Since we're talking about pub games, you can assume that the noobs won't seperate.... or you can dominate a lane from level 6 onwards by harassing with your little Nuke, mana up, and then quickly pop Ulti between 2 enemeies for bouncy bouncy KSs.

Get a carry who has early game ganking power, or a semi-carry with the same. Valk, Pesti, and Madman come to mind. If your team can't carry, you have to do so or you WILL lose.

You're gonna have to be a carry. There's no way a behe or jera can carry a game if your team is that bad. However, if you outfarm others with someone like madman, magebane, etc, you can easily beat a team.

plague rider is a good option that ive not tried at all. I get the idea tho to get solo mid in order to level past, and a char with an instagib ulti is nice.

A smart Arachna can rip people up easily, giving the opponents horrible early games. Blood Hunter is also nice. Hellbringer can win games to. Amazing ganker, independent from most items, and his ultimate is useful for a myriad of things.

Refresher Stone + Malphas wins games.

Scout, ks every kill, farm, never push, never defend. Eyes stop ganks on your own team to a degree. Gives you an advantage in rune control even when your team is bad. If they have a coherent team you lose, but then you'd lose anyways if your team sucks.

Or a nuker like tb to ks and pad your own stats.

Whats it like playing em? Maybe you think I'm a noob because I mentioned tb and tb is clearly not an agi hero.

normally in pubs all of the newbs insta pick carries so i normally switch to a support to try and even things out. Demented shaman with ur pure support build will help even the worst team win. Stack +14 armor, 5 hp regen auras, with 2 forms of healing. And then ur ult which will swing the tide of battle. Makes basicly everyone on ur team a semi tank(70%+ damage reduction most of the battle) vs auto attackers.

Plague rider is a good pick too, support/nuker. His ult is crazy if used properly, a nuke that slows and armor that slows ms and atk speed when someone targets u. Get ur sotm and then get support items.

But tbh in pub games almost any hero could end up being a "carry".

If u wanted to be all about urself u could go puppet master(if its not insta picked) and just rape face.

Solo mid Madman. Lane well, get all the runes, level fast. Madman's probably the carry who will have the most impact late game and whose presence is felt the most by the other team (due to his ability to get around the map so quickly and have a great AOE stun). He can also solo mid relatively well compared to other agi carries.

Moon Queen could also work, if you're good with her. You have a good early game, you can gank, people gank you at the risk of dying, you can farm well and potentially carry your team to victory without ever depending on your allies to do anything else except maybe show up in a team fight. Be sure to get Shrunken Head, though, because you can be sure you'll be the center of attention.

Just played that type of game. I grabbed TB, and soloed mid. I kept the opposing mid out of his lane, ganked constantly, etc. We still lost, but it sure was fun. Pure, unadulterated happy-time slaughter. I just tried to stay alive; trying to work with a failure team will just make you sad.

I love Madman to death, but he's is not for a game that is going to fail.

He is so-so early/mid game but amazing late game.

If you've got a team full of tards, you need a hero that is strong mid-game.....or you won't make it to late game....
