    I've been here since closed beta. And i want to remind you a few things.

    Devourer back in the days had his hook range reduced to 400 or 500 at lvl1 (i dont recall exactly the numbers, but i can assure that wasn't 1000). No Devourer was seen in the pubs, almost none. There was complaints about him having too little (if any) threat to the enemy until lvl 6/7. Then, S2 gave him 1000 constant range at all levels. Devo was reborn, not as popular as the imbawtf Devourer of the last rework but he was seen more consistently.

    My thoughts: The suggestion of shorten Hook's range is blatantly retarded. Do not listen to OP in that point. If any, tweat a little bit his passive, to match DotA (in DotA, is retroactive, it keeps track of the deaths you've been involved and when you level it up, it gives you the amount of STR gained, making not neccesary leveling it up in the early game if you don't want to miss STR gain from kills)

    what o.o hook is too long? really?

    i think it would be rather useless if it were any shorter. i'd rather see it longer personally. vallk has a 3000 range skillshot at lv1 and nobody is complaining about that.

    not getting hooked isn't that hard. just be aware of where dev is. if he's missing you should have wards in reasonable hook spots, and in any case you should be moving around to keep creeps between you and him.

    he's hardly the most overpowered hero in the game.
    Personally i think the only fix he really needs, is something to prevent the issue of hooked and devoured people moving outside the range of rot. either with a short stun on hook, or by making devour pull them closer. it's mainly due to the cast anim on devour. you can start it while someone is at the very edge of the reachable range, and by the time the animation finishes they can be several steps away. it still devours them, but you have to grow a stage or two before decay can get them too which is annoying.

    in any case. dev is not op. go nerf something else please

    I really don't see why people are making a big deal about Devourer, he has some perks but he really isn't all that great. That is why he was buffed from his DOTA counter-part and even now he is a situational pick at best.

    This does not warrant, however, that Backhook should be returned to him. That feature was broken in terms of risk-reward.

    700 -800 -900 - 1000 RANGE WITH

    with 160, 230, 300, 370 TRUE DMG would balance him.
    also making his cadaver armor count kills and assists even if not skilled it, and when u skill it poff + (1100 range kills + assist strenght).
    or make him like MoA - > Give him lvl 1 cadaver armor that gives no bonuses except strenght.

    heros that devourer cant kill at mid:magebane,midas,hag,emerald warden,valkirye,madman,the dark lady,tremble,witch slayer,revenant,scout,magmus....basically any stunner,invis and a hero with a good escape mechanism.and you want to nerf him ?

    I dont agree with that list.

    I play devourer one hell of alot.

    The only clear people to get away from a hook early game are the blinkers that you mentioned.

    The quishey stunners will still be in trouble when you hook them, as you can position yourself in a manner that makes it harder to both run and position a stun.

    Based on my 35ish% Devourer play i can tell you that he does not need a nerf. He can snowball like so many heroes so if you want to nerf him there are copious amounts of other hoeres that need nerfs..

    The buff on his aura is really nice, i've noticed a real difference in the gain on the passive if you stay active in the early to mid game.

    Hes perfect where he is. Sure you can get nice hooks early game with the range but just remember late game when armor is picked up the hook is a mere tickle on tankier heroes and for squishy heroes its positioning.

    And to clarify the reason why they buffed the aura to 1150 range: Hook has 1000 range. If you hook somebody that is on low health at lets say, 800 range from you, yeah you kill him but you don't gain any STR from it cause the death happens outside of the previous range of 400. Even if you drag the corpse to you, you couldn't gain any STR from it.

    Also, the title of the thread should be changed to Devourer, from Guttling Hook
