100% solo queue, verified only games
tips for people who want to play tundra:
1) download this mod, it will make you play better since the effects reflect what the spells actually do and how big they are - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkGedUlkUMA
2) dont bind your pets together with each other or yourself, i bind my hero to 1 (not f1) courier to 2, ranged pet to 3 and flying pet to 4
this way you wont send your hawk to its death while moving your boar, or move the boar back when youre running away with your hero, better control
3) skill 2-2-1-1 (Q-W-E-R), starting with 1-2-0-0, when you hit lv3 (usually around 1:35-45 mark) send both of your pets to the rune furthest away from you
ie, if youre hellbourne, send your pets top - if youre legion, send your pets to the bot rune, place your hawk in such a way that it can see the path an enemy
hero could take to reach the rune (if you think the enemy mid is going to go for the rune, place the pets in the path he would take to get there -- if you think
an enemy side lane hero is going to go for the rune, move the pets accordingly, try to get the boar on the high ground if possible,
at the same time, move your hero to the rune your pets are not guarding, when the rune spawns and it spawns near your pets, attack the rune twice with your boar,
it will have about 25hp left, if an enemy hero tries to get it while youre moving your hero towards the rune -- kill it with the boar, this way you maintain control
also keep in mind that if a hero is trying to get the rune on the opposite side of you, then you can charge him and land in front of him which might let you pick up the rune first
(note that a lv4 boar will kill the rune in 2 hits!)
4) the boar can remove succubus mesmerize, keep this in mind and try to remove sleep whenever possible, if its worth it that is, dont pull the boar off if the slow is needed
5) in team fights or skirmishes, try to have the boar slow the melee heroes, since its more effective on them
its also extremely annoying as youll no doubt hear in all chat if you focus the same person long enough
6) tundras charge follows no pathing what so ever, you can charge up and down cliffs, through obstacles, ramps -- you name it
7) when fleeing or chasing through the woods, try to get vision of neutral creeps with your bird and charge them to move around faster
8) both of your pets can clear engi spider mines, always send the bird over to the lane engi is in as soon as you can to sweep for mines, and remember to do so throughout the entire game
9) in the lane, try to move your boar around the river and hit your enemy from the high ground, very frustrating for the enemy
10) if youre laning a hero that can kill your boar very quickly (silhouette, FA etc) then max axes instead, 3-1-1-1
11) in case you have a jungler and your boar isnt doing anything, send it into the jungle and stack/help them farm
12) your bird can find scout wards by moving over them, remember to clear the rune wards asap as it takes time to replace them
13) while dewarding, place the ward/stand in range with your gem and let your boar kill the ward while your bird scouts it, this way youre taking no risks
14) if you cast charge on a hero with nullstone ready and you actually charge him, then it was an illusion -- charge pops nullstone and you do not move if it fails
15) the bird can tank death boil aoe 'charges', block hooks/arrows/chipper rockets etc
16) parasite can jump in your bird and spread terror across the map, just remember that he gets kicked out when you resummon another one
17) tundra and his team can take down kongor fairly quickly with the attack speed buff from his charge and the boar slowing/tanking a bit, also the bird can keep tabs on the enemy
18) remember that your ulti pushes and slows MS/AS of units inbetween you and the target as well as dealing good damage to them, its not always a good idea to ulti in melee range, especially while escaping
19) if you get a dd rune at lv4, consider picking charge over level 2 axes, since your charge damage is based on your attack damage you can deal terrible terrible damage very quickly, even more so when it is lv4 in the late game -- very scary
20) your axes deal damage once on the way out and once on the way in, the shorter you throw the axes the faster they will deal damage, remember this vs blinking heroes and while farming creeps
21) you and your allies can use travel boots tp on your bird, while it is invisible -- this way there is literally zero warning since the teleport effect is invisible
22) as long as your bird is one pixel behind the center of a tree it is invisible to units looking at it in that direction, try to position your bird so that its covered by trees in 360 degrees
23) instantly use invisibility on your bird when you spawn it, this way your enemies lose track of your cooldown and have no idea where the bird is and where its going
24) radiance can kill the bird very quickly, try to keep it some distance away from paths where the hero with radiance might walk
25) your axes deal mixed damage, as in they get partly amplified by minus armor, you can decimate a team with a high stacked demented ulti and bulwark
26) dont go for items that dont give you any stats/survivability, you want to keep a fine balance between your offense and defense, items such as bulwark and icebrand(sange) are a great choice
27) dont try to rush a puzzlebox, the buildup is terrible and the first rank isnt that good, its a long investment and you need smaller items early on to get your ball rolling
28) when trying to set up a gank on the tier 1 short lane towers (either side), sneak your bird in around the back while no one can see it so you have vision on the trees behind the tower
also remember that you can crash in through the trees with your axes, its always a surprise for the enemy players
29) if youre struggling to get in range for an ultimate, charge a unit standing close to the one you want to reach and then ult, its very sudden and will work in 9/10 cases
30) if geomancer casts his E on you, charge any unit and itll fall behind causing almost no damage at all
31) in case you havent used your charge in the lane when you hit lv6, there is a good chance your enemy doesnt know you have skilled it, use this to your advantage and catch him off guard
32) the optimal way to go on a target is to first throw your axes, charge, summon the boar if it is not in range already and then cast your ulti to take him down, this isnt always possible
33) remember that you can use your charge to get out of AOE abilities like torturer impalement, kraken ulti, geo ulti etc
34) before buying a gem, try to bulk up with a vanguard so you dont lose it, losing the gem is not cool on tundra and might cost you the game
35) killing a ranged creep with axes works like this -
Level 1/1 Axes (hero level 1, axe level 1) it takes 2 auto attacks, or one auto attack and a hatchet throw
Level 3/2 Axes (hero level 3, axe level 2) it still takes two hits
Level 4/2 (hero level 4, axes level 2, now you can kill the creep in ONE hit, or one hatchet throw - because your base damage is higher
remember this while farming ranged creeps with your axes, it will net you a lot of ranged creep kills
36) you can deny yourself with your boar, i did it once and it was hilarious, for me anyway!
items:
starting items vs melee hero - hatchet and nothing else
starting items vs ranged hero - shield & hp potion
buy your bottle after that, if you only had a hatchet then all you need is 4
creeps and a few seconds of gold ticks to get your bottle, so if you clear
the first wave youll have it, its very risk VS rewardy so you might not
want to do this unless youre comfortable
buy boots after you have your bottle and then make chalice, after chalice
finish your phase boots and then you need to make your first choice
if the enemy team has a lot of high-power nukes like pyro, devourer etc
that is heroes you need lots of health to fight against then start building a
sange/icebrand - start with the 450g item as that 6 strength can make all
the difference in the world
if the enemy team has 'slow' damage then you can go straight to bulwark,
it greatly increases your overall damage output since tundra auto attacks
a lot on top of the fact that his axes deal part physical damage
you should pickup both items in any order you want since theyre core on tundra, BM in dota was a different story since he didnt have charge like tundra does
icebrand works amazingly well since you can lock down opponents very easily with charge + boar/icebrand slows
after you have those two items you can start building whatever it is you need for that specific game,
it can be pk/puzzlebox/bkb/yasha or whatever, when youre dead -- think about what you really NEED to fight back
aaand thats about it for now, release the trolls

I saw this on a stream a while ago and don't know if its still true, but dropping a gem mutes it for the other team (if you aren't stun locked).34) before buying a gem, try to bulk up with a vanguard so you dont lose it, losing the gem is not cool on tundra and might cost you the game
Whoah some of those tips require so much skill, I'm thinkin is that humanly possible? Like 4, 7, 11 and 15
i dont understand why you would get an eye with tundra isnt a situatonal item eg if theors scout nh mm etc
Unfortunately no matter what you peoplw say, this dude is still better than you.
also nice guide
