What if a poll doesn't fit our suggestion so well? What if the real answers will be in the comments? I know I've suggested things in the past where a "yes" or "no" answer wouldn't really mean anything at all.
well guess this suggestion is doomed cause i dont know how to make a ****ing poll then... the nazis were also sticklers for rules![]()
@ [MEL]donaldtroll : Well if you can not figure out how to make a poll I don't know how insightful your suggestion would be, so instead of wasting time reading it, we just move them. And read the guide on how to make a poll, which is posted here.

Ah sry didn't know you had to make polls ^^
I'll make one later ;P
How come this thread doesn't contain a poll then :P
But serously, one of the resons why Icefrog left dota-allstars.com was because of polls. and they are currently disabled in Play-dota.com to encourage comments, of course this in itself was somewhat flawed in that people could just post T-Up/T-Down. i myself are am not sure of all the reasons why the pools are diasbled but it seems to work well despite the sometimes spam of one liner T-_____. which is why i don't necessarily see it as the best thing to do in a suggestion forum.
Actually, IceFrog hates the suggestions forums. He doesn't care about them at all--that's why he doesn't read them, and instead gets other people to read them for him.
Polls had nothing to do with his leaving DotA-Allstars.com--League of Legends and Pendragon_ did. The reason PlayDotA.com doesn't have polls right now is because their suggestions section is highly disorganized and doesn't have leadership yet.
I voted yes on this thread's poll.
Oh wait..
FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
Should we report threads that don't have polls? The report button doesn't specifically mention breaking the forum rules as a reason to report posts.
Can you make it part of the rules that it has to be unbiased poll options.
These days I see options ranging from:
to:
- Yes
- No, and explain why
Ok, bit of an exaggeration on that last one but I think you get the idea. I did actually did see a poll option today with the word "terrorist" in it (think you killed it anyway). Both of these are examples of biased poll options. Why is it that only people saying "no" should have to post? And a poll option should in no way influence a persons decision based on it's content.
- Yes, because america is awesome
- No, because I'm a terrorist
S2 and so-called "backdooring" - http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showpost.php?p=399428&postcount=30 and http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?p=1873844#post1873844. Read it and weep.
the scrub labels a wide variety of tactics and situations "cheap." This "cheapness" is truly the mantra of the scrub.
If the poll is bias we'll change it.
Feel free to PM me or report it or make a post in the thread even.
