How can you host a game that excludes a "scout" hero?

How can you host a game that excludes a "scout" hero?

I love all the other heroes but scout is ridiculously overpowered.

I have no problem with any other hero, I'd just rather play in games without a scout.

There is no way to exclude single heroes yet.
There is an option called 'No agility heroes', but that's not what you want.

Or if you felt like it go magmus, stun in a bit ahead of where they will run to, Ulti than Laugh at your free kill..
Scout is by far one of the weakest Early game heroes so play appon that. Before the will get his Vanish and demoralize him by taking him down or just ganking him. Scout is the most annoying hero in the game next to madman and Voodoo Jester (Just because of that stun ): )

Scout may seem overpowered in a low tier game, but in higher tiers he is actually one of the least picked heroes. if you are having trouble killing scout, I would suggest one of 2 heroes, Pyromancer, or Pestilence. Pestilence can use his Swarm ability ( LEvel 6 Ultimate) to put a debuff on Scout for I believe either 25 or 30 seconds. The debuff reduces armor and grants you vision of the target. Pyromancer is also a good pick because early-mid game his combo can basically kill Scout right there. So try those 2 and come back if you need more help.

In the future this will be possible via the "Allow Veto" option under Advanced Options, unfortunately it is not currently working.

    There are a few solutions:

    1. Pick scout and either play him or repick.
    2. Pick one of the counters to Scout; Zues, Pestilence, Blood Hunter, Keeper of the Forest, Legionnaire, etc.
    3. Ask people not to pick Scout. This usually won't work.

Actually, Allow Veto IS working, most people just don't know what it does.

Allow Veto makes it to where the host can pass/decline any vote with just HIS vote. It's not made to "ban" heroes, like people commonly think.

So here is what you can do: Host a game and turn "Allow Veto" on.

In the gamename put "NO SCOUT" in the title, so everyone knows not to get him. If someone still gets him, kick him as soon as the game starts for disobeying the game rules.

Keeper of the Forest's trees do not grant true sight in HoN IIRC

You could learn how to play HoN which would fix your problem just as good.

First of all, constructive criticism is always welcomed, but answers like the one provided by Vicious and some others are disrespectful, add no value, and doesn't belong Training Grounds. Please avoid answering in this way.

@Topic, the final answer is no, there is no way to specifically exclude one hero from a match. The most you can do is take preventive measure, as the ones provided above. Just to sum it up, buy wards/dust/bound eye or pick "counter" heroes like Pestilence or Blood Hunter, among others.

Edit: Ok, and there is the somewhat controverse veto thing as an option. I would never do that, but it is your call, so it is a possible choice.

I think that's the perfect solution right there- and thanks for telling me what that does, I think I might leave that option on from now on... x3

Wrong. By practicing he gets better (training grounds, rings a bell?).
By excluding heroes that belong to the game just like all the other heroes he does NOT learn how to play, on the contrary, he evades learning how to ward/dust, i.e. restricts his learning. In short: "dont exclude heroes, l2p" is a valid contribution. He already knows how to counter scout, he just cant be arsed to learn it. So you just totally wasted your "e-breath" telling him something he already knows. Judging from his post he doesnt wanna learn how to play. OP is in the wrong section.

I found that killing him as much as possible and making sure he is not able to farm early game is my best tactic.
