Top players get real-time data from scrims/matches, and can judge which teams they fear most, or respect most in-game. These rankings are a result of a collective opinion, with data garnered from sensitive (in the way of change) sources.
To dispute it, is to 1) define it as something entirely different, or 2) proclaim how stupid you really are.
If you were at the top of anything, you'd know that you automatically get a feel for who is/are the strongest contenders. The strongest team right now? Hard facts (in way of past wins) mean nothing when there is no standardized process of collecting data. In such an arena, opinion from the top-level is the ultimate rule.
Would you still say MSI was #1, if four of their core players retired, on the basis of their past wins? Hardly. Basing a team's ranking through such a correlation is entirely futile. Past wins != current standing, or standing in relation to items of different periods. (AKA Basketball teams of 60-70 vs. Basketball teams of 2000-2010). And again, there is no standardization to really rule the process.
(Note: any response to this will either be approving, or alternatively, disapproving. Those who disapprove, as you will observe, will do nothing to dismantle what I say in a meaningful way as they probably lack the ability to participate in meaningful discussion. As with any 'talk' on the internet, they will either deflect or dodge the logical foundation upon which I stand, and skirt any mention of it entirely. That is the way of trolls, after all. The thing known as debunking is far above their capacity.)

i think we should do a top 10 vote, with the voters being solely made out of the people who post the most in the competitive forum who are indeed not competitive.

I hope to see the day where neither a US or EU team is #1, just to see the ultimate shitstorm on this forums to happen.
Not sure what all the QQ is. It's a weekly (bi-weekly?) Top 10 list ranking the CURRENT top teams. Therefore, the list is pretty accurate. All the "MSI too low" discussion leads me to believe that there are a lot of people not paying attention to the scene lately. I am a supporter of MSI, but I would not be shocked to see them even lower in the next update to this list due to their inactivity. Ths list doesn't say they're a bad team, it's just that a team that doesn't play is hardly threatening.
That being said, OK will probably drop a bit as well to make room for EZ.
I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've agreed with a post by China, but this is definitely one of those times.
Real-time data? Haha. People can and do watch replays, which is exactly the same thing; in fact, its alot more objective. And yes, these rankings are just that - the result of collective opinion. And I don't think I need to mention how retarded and/or biased most HON players are (in general) and especially when it concerns ego-inflating things like 'team rankings'.
No standardized practice of collecting data? Yes there is. Its called recording tournmanent performances. The whole underlying purpose of competitive HON is to win tournaments, so that should obviously be the defining measure of a team's rank, where applicable. If you were at the top of anything, you'd know that you automatically get a feel for who is/are the strongest contenders. The strongest team right now? Hard facts (in way of past wins) mean nothing when there is no standardized process of collecting data. Except SGTY, COL, OK and MSI have more or less had the exact same lineups (maybe one switch up at most) for the last three months? And all four teams have been playing competitively for the same amount of time. How is basing a team's ranking on actual tournament performance instead of opinions 'entirely futile'?Would you still say MSI was #1, if four of their core players retired, on the basis of their past wins? Hardly. Basing a team's ranking through such a correlation is entirely futile.
In the last three months:
MSI has won $13500
OK has won $8200
COL has won $4380
SGTY has won $1850
Of course, the only anomaly here is team EZ, who is of course newly formed. But until they win any tournaments, nobody can say with believeable authority that they are 'the best'.
Facts > Opinions, alright?
How arrogant. You make a post and anyone who disagrees is by extension unequivocally erroneous?(Note: any response to this will either be approving, or alternatively, disapproving. Pretty tired of your pseudo-intellectual posts, China. Go back to your trolling and stop trying to be more intelligent than you are. It just comes off as grasping and awkward...
