Zeph is one of my favorite heroes. He's a great early and midgame ganker and semicarry, but really he's just a tank. An amazing tank at that, but still a tank. All his skills are geared towards tanking.
Lategame all he has is his tankiness and magic dmg (winds, ulti, Mock.) But sometimes your real carries have nothing and you NEED to carry. How do I do this? I've had way too many games where I do amazing but still lose due to being outcarried.
So what's a good item build for lategame carrying? I typically go Phase boots / Helm / Shaman's / Mock. (Because I know I can get Mock early and it's just rape with ult / winds.) But then what? I'll normally get a Heart and upgr. Shaman's to Barrier Idol after that to be able to laugh at the enemy team. Then it's either Frostwulf or Symbol of Rage.
I suppose a combination of Rift Shards and Daemonic would be good for late, but I'm just looking for some input.
What do you guys think? Suggestions? Let the discussion commence.

Wingbow is a rather solid pick on him for more physical dps. You could also get one additional slot from dismantling helm and using Beastheart for Behemoth's. At that point I suppose Savage is the best unless you need to go for Barbed as that item carries pretty hard aswell.

That's how.
Don't go 1v1 their carry, go kill everybody on the team who isn't a tank because their carry can't really touch you. If you're just getting kited because their silhouette has a frostwolf then, well, them's the breaks. Not every hero will be perfectly viable in every situation. Zephyr is countered hard by significant disables and ranged heroes with frostwolf skulls. Just like every other melee hero. Oh and mock is not even close to a lategame item. At best it's an early-midgame item to accelerate your farm and help you snowball if you're already winning. Use zephyr's abilities to augment his physical dps; don't just go mega tanky and rely on them entirely. You're not torturer.

Later on, whenever carries get BKB or a Barrier...all Zeph becomes is a meatshield. You really should abuse his farming speed to end the game early

Let me spell it out plain for you

Zephyr carries late game by carrying early game.
Your early game damage is amazing, even without Mock. You should be showing up at teamfights and winning them with your team by the time you have Helm + Ghost Marchers, if not before. You should also be plowing through every creepwave and jungle camp you can get. Zephyr is one of the fastest farmers in the game with minimal items, and you should take advantage of that because if at any point in the mid/lategame you don't have significantly more farm than the enemy carry, you're losing.
I might offend a lot of Zephyr purists by saying this, but you should only get Mock to cement a significant early game advantage, and if you do get it you should try to push and end the game early. Mock's dropoff is significant as the enemy starts getting magic armor and Shrunken Heads. If you don't feel like the game will end quickly, put that gold into a Frostburn - it boosts your chasing ability, survivability, single target damage and although it isn't as awesome as an early Mock, it doesn't ever really expire. From there, go into traditional melee carry items - Shrunken Head, Savage Mace, etc.
If you DO get a fast Mock and an early game lead, you can either transition into the late game from there (Shrunken Head, Frostburn, etc) or try to cement your midgame by tanking up and relying on your magic damage (Shamans, Heart).
Overall, though, the golden rule of Zephyr is to have more gold than your opponent at all times. If you don't have a farm advantage carries with an actual lategame skill set will easily wreck you.

Also, the :FrostwolfsSkull:aemonicBreastplate :BehemothsHeart::AbyssalSkull::Wingbow: :EnhancedMarchers: guy has the right idea. Tho it's affordable only on insane farm (those 600+ gpm games), in which you normally win long before you actually have all that built.
If you're on equal farm with a rightclicking carry (either the FWS herpderp variety or melee SH users) late game, duking it out, you get outcarried. Works as intended IMO, as Zephyr is incredibly powerful at midgame carrying.

It's really a question of how tanky the rest of your build is, TBH. Without Heart and so on your HP can be relatively low and you can't take that much nuke.
Plus, remember that Zephyr's Cyclone DPS is effectively melee range - so if you're stunned, people can easily just walk out of it.

alternatively, if you already know that you're team wont be able to get addiquite farm, go vanguard mystics into bkb skadi, which should make you more then "tanky" enough to outlast heroes, always have your support stacking for you because of how easy it is to farm for zephyr. And then latteee game you can go BoTs and split push.. and for items. shevas, skadi, bkb, and maybe a mkb? i donno, all really depends on the other team
TL;DR
dont get a wingbow, Go Skadi And shevas, = 0 ms. and then MKB and something like rifts. (also stacking atk mods with skadi is a joke, so go ahead and try it out)
how i usually build him for a carry build:HelmOfTheBlackLegio:EnhancedMarchers::Mock:: HackNSlash: after this depending on there team either bkb if there stun heavy lifesteal if there tank heavy demonic if your crushing them and barrier if they have lots of castors.... past this core items dont really matter just depends on heroes mainly and of course if you suck...

there are many many viable build figure out what works for you and change depending on what your going against there is no such thing as a build that will work in every situation experiment and have fun...
Thanks for the input, guys. I have some idea of how to transition into lategame now. Big thanks to the most informative poster - Khrrck.
