The Sword of the High Lord
- I would like to have the community choose which looks prettiest to re-present in the Gauntlet.
Ingredients Required for this item:
- Sword of the High - Sacred Relic: +60 Damage - 3800 gold
- Bound Eye - Gem of True Sight: Reveals nearby invisibile units. Drops upon death. - 750 goldgold
- Blessed Orb - Ultimate Orb: +10 All Attributes - 2100 gold
- Will of the King Recipe: 2000 Gold
The item's goal:(AUTO)Sword of the High LordAttributes:
Cost: 8650 Gold.
Kings retribution is an EXCLUSIVE MODIFIER and DOES NOT stack with OTHER EXCLUSIVE MODIFIERS it applies a 10 True damage tick to the target each hit that can tick every 4 seconds and does restack on hit resulting in a captick of 100 every 4 seconds over 20 seconds. This is lethal damage and will instantly kill the target if it hits 100 HP regardless if another tick would income or not.+76 Damage
+Reveal (400 range instead of 1100, which the eye usually has.)
+13 to all Stats
+ Kings Retribution
In order to garauntee an "Instant kill" at 100HP the user must've applied 10 stacks of Kings Retribution on the target.
The item is supposed to be one of the "most wanted" items in the game. It will also be one of the most risky items. You have to gather high price items, which hardly have anything in "on use". In addition, there is a grand risk to it - the bound eye. If you have to buy the eye early because of a scoutfag or lolhound around or people using assassin's shroud, this item may be the breaker which will disable you in getting the Sword of the High Lord, however. There are those who buy the eye last ^^.
I put restrictions for NOW on this item as I think these heros would be by far too imbalanced with this item whatsoever other heros again would not.
FAQChangelogQ: How does the King's Retribution work?
A: For every attack you add 1 unit of the King's retribution to the target, if you stop attacking or if the stack reaches 10 stacks, it will do damage equal X stacks multiplied with 10 true damage every four seconds.
AkA: When the stack reaches 10 it stops re-applying the debuff and will tick for 100 TRUE damage every 4 seconds for 20 seconds (5 ticks).
IF the enemy reachesbelow 100 HP and the debuff is still on the target at 10 units, it will instantly kill the target even if there will be another tick of 100 which will kill it after the 4 seconds period.
16.10.2009 22:00 GMT+1, Created Thread and suggestion. Will from now on make a perfect diamond out of this raw one.
18.10.2009 02:20 GMT+1, revamped itemchoice and stats. Also added FAQ
12.11.2009 01:50 GMT+1, Added more damage, therefor reduced statgain. Reduced Reveal range by an additional 100. Added recipe to conpensate for massive game breaking permanent truesight of 400 range.
Why is it +20 all stats and +5 str? You already gave a HUGE stat bonus as it is, I can understand a little extra STR but that's quite a bit.
Also for me it's Concept 2
Lastly, I'm assuming this will drop on death? If so then why wouldn't they just by a Doom Bringer? The only advantage is really the true sight.
I dont think I stated that this item drops upon death - It does not. And it is in fact better than the doombringer simply because it does add a neat amount to your own damage
(85 to all) 90 to Strength heros
And then in addition it does give a DOT which does 100 damage per tick if applied often enough that will last 5 ticks AFTER the fight aka another 500 pure damage. Sure, you can get doombringer for pure physical damage, but I prefer true ;P
The ingredients are way too much, especially the overall price.
Concept's nice, but the whole concept itself needs clarification.
It's interesting how this would be the only item in the game with permanent true sight. I'm not sure that I really like that. It totally invalidates invisibility. However, since the item costs ~7000 gold to acquire, that might be forgivable.
Also, exclusive modifiers work with other exclusive modifiers and not with themselves. Perhaps you are thinking of attack modifiers (the ones a player has to choose between). An item is never entirely denied to a player because of exclusive modifiers in his skills. In short, if you made an item which you think is too powerful on 10 heroes in the game, you probably need to rethink it.
Clarify King's Retribution a bit more. I'm really unsure of how it works. In most recipes in the game, the bonuses of the components transfer to the recipe with a slight bonus. The damage bonus looks good, but the bonus to all stats has been boosted more than 50%.
Better overall. Still dislike not dropping on death The whole Bound Eye not being on a recipe I'll leave to others..
I think we really have to move from "dotarules" to HON itself.
Why would the eye be forbidden? I dont see why - I also cut down the sightrange of the eye as it is in a recipe now down to 500 from 1100, so invisible units have to get relativily close at first to be seen.
And it shouldn't drop on death simply because it's not the same as the Doombringer / doesnt do the same damage.
