Hi there,
I have a problem with getting kills in the early/mid-game when I play damage dealers / carries.
The problem is that most players don't use all of their abilities in teamfights / ganks unless they can use them to "lasthit" someone to get the kills.
I think of the players that play heroes that dont rely on the gold as much as carries do and still see low hp heroes and think "uh, easy kill -> *ability cast* -> killed, yeah, i'm so pro". No matter whether one of the damage dealers is already killing this enemy (not even if the damage dealer dealt 90% of the damage so far).
I hate that. Really, it drives me crazy. My question is:
How can I hinder my "team"mates from getting all the kills, whereas I need them much more (if I play carries/damage dealers).
Any ideas, suggestions?

Common pub mentality. Not much to do about it. Good players will recognize that carries should get the kills if possible.
The only solution can be:
ask them to stop killstealing from the carry
But alot of people just ignore you. If you dont want to play your hero horrible and wait for the lasthits yourself you could choose a carry that is good at getting kills. For example Pestilence to chase down fleeing enemys or dark lady cause she deals most of their damage in a very short time period.
And explain your team why its a bad idea to save your spells for kill stealing. If a stupid pyromancer wants to killsteal and saves his spells there is nothing you can do as a madman.
Unfortunately most people don't think as a team in pubs, it's not about how many kills YOU got, it's about your team. You should try to explain them about your role as a carry and why you need the cash more than they do. If STILL they don't understand start playing a more defensive game, let them go into the fray first and you pick the kills when you see fit.
Try to add people in friends list while you play, or ask some RL friends. Only when you have a team of friends or when you play higher level games, people will leave the kills to the carries.
When me and my friends play for example, we dont even compete about creepkills in the lanes. Basically, one person harass/deny while the other get every lasthit to farm up very quickly. Also let them get lasthits on towers and heroes.
Sometimes we stack ancients or big creepcamps to help our carries get quick lvl/gp. Always let them lasthit kongor etc.
Sometimes we also buy their consumables (tps/pots) and always provide them with a couirer and wards.
You (as a support) end up having nothing, and probably die often and getting 0 kills. So you end up with 0-6 or w/e but your carry is WAY stronger.
I've seen this a lot as well, seems to be a common problem in pubs unfortunately.
I love playing support and it's just sad when you end up with a sucky team where there is no one to support and you would have been better off playing a carry as no one cares anyway.
The funniest thing that comes to my mind is when I was playing Electrician and went 0/3/16 by mid game (EM, i know, i know :P) and one of my team mates starts yelling, calling me a feeder and tells me to start getting some kills. I just sighed, because I always let the carries get the kills. ^^

No, I don't think that's what he means. I guess it's something along the lines of a team battle where Glacius gets to land his ulti, last hitting sometimes.

I was thniking about the same thing.... and i think there would be a simple solution... you should rework the way ppl get kills. The player wich dealt the most % of dmg should get the kill. Mabye that would be better. I'm not sure yet, but you guys can give me an opinion.
no, just think when some1 gets away from you. lets say, u are fighting andromeda, and she gets away with 20hp and u CANT catch her. then bs comes from behind and kills her. you should get a kill? dont think so. it works fine as it is, there are ks bastards so live with it
A carry is an hero that normaly sucks early game but if well feeded/farmed can totaly own 1v5 in the end game, basicaly you need to babysit those heroes in order to win end-game.
Normaly Agi heroes are Carry heroes but you have heroes in str such as pestilence and predator or int such as puppetmaster and shaman that can be considered carry if builded in a certain way
