i was already once associated with gamereplays, i did a bazillion guides and some even overnight because the other people did not do their jobs, and id rather not be associated ever again.
a wiki should be more than just a player name and a few "funny"/pointless remarks like "scrims actively as of lately". there is so much you could do but it takes time and work, and nobody is willing to invest it, even if people are motivated now it will probably end up like any gamereplays project ive seen until now.
im not trying to downrate any of your work and ambitions but imo you could for once start slow/low before launching a 30% complete wiki that takes so much more work to even remotely finish, and then it needs to be surveyed and updated
I do appreciate your comments; but anyone who knows me knows I do what I do because I enjoy eSports and I don't really give two shits about GR as a site. It's hosted there sure, but there are no ads on the wiki itself and we don't even advertise it as a 'GR' wiki. I started working on it because I was frustrated searching through a million forum threads or horrid esports sites just to find the most recent results or player/roster information. I started it purely for my own personal lazy and selfish use, and now it can help other people follow the scene too. It has nothing to do with associating with GR, and it seems you even admitted you're really biased.
That all being said, we worked on this for months before launch. Which is a long period of time to maintain motivation to work on something without it being 'public'. You say we should start slow - we did - but a wiki is never 100% "complete", as there is always more that can be added. Wikis thrive off more contributors, which is what you get when you launch. People see a valuable resource and they want to help out; the more people who help, the more accurate and valuable the information contained therein. We got it to a workable level and are now letting others jump in to improve it. The fact that you say its 30% is a compliment because yes, it CAN be so much more; but only with others' help.
You're free to sign up and add your page, we just have to make you an editor, which we do quite fast I think.
As I said, we're trying to have pages on every team and competitive players that are playing nowadays, in the first place. After that, we'll work on past competitive players, they just aren't the top priority at the moment.
any chance the wiki's color scheme could change to something less bright/in your face?
black on white background is not the friendliest to the eyes at time. the hon forums have a good color scheme of black/white/blue/orange which is aesthetically pleasing while not being too boring.
just a suggestion!

you and ichi were the most pleasant guys to do stuff with i have encountered so far online, cant really talk about anyone else. you know i had lost faith in the hon staff back before i quit since neither news nor ss did anything at all, and when i came back to the site a few months ago to see how it was doing, seeing it was still the same, news posts scarce, guides not updated but yet again tons of projects the hon community doesnt even know about or care, and the worst: the same kind of unappreciative bad trolls/idiots were still wanking in these forums because the forums were and still are empty as ****.
i doubt the hon section would have much hits at all lately if not for the stroke of genius to put all livestreams of this game onto the page, and totalymoo casting does not help much.
the silly gamereplays-honcast rivalry you kept on for so long did not help either. i know i did not have much to say, but i remember those things like "no honcast shoutcasters in our games allowed" and when someone asked why not work with honcast because it would have given you better representation and advertisement than your own faulty stream ever did (even now your honreplays live stream is still branded for lagging, going black and whatnot when honcast have 90% of the time delivered quality at least in visuals. yea i hated breaky and still do, but at least you could WATCH) the answer was NO. NO DISCUSSION.
yea i was pretty passionate back then and no doubt will be again once some big dota2 sites with good selection towards their staff come out, so i am not stuck with pretenders that could not do simple things like "update this guide" within 3 weeks ever again.
also, my point still stands, its been like a week when i wrote this, and im still watching at the america page and important/known names like brax ensoe envy levent are still not listed, while some guy named unsecured nobody has ever heard of ever is now in the euro list, with some retarded text saying hes semi pro. damn, belongs into competitive wiki.
hell, not even papadrayich has found his way into this wiki yet.
so yea, i keep trolling these unmoderated forums and make idiots like torture mad and stalk my every post. its pretty easy when you know what to write.
OH NOES A WHOLE WEEK
Like I said before dude, we're focusing on CURRENT teams/players/tours and doing our best to backlog older things. "brax ensoe envy levent papadrayich"... yes they're important players but show me the last time they played in a comp match? We get information by contributors who are either a) the players themselves, or b) know the players. The players you mentioned aren't even around anymore, so it's more difficult for us to get in contact with them about a game they don't really play much. But if you have information we're missing, step up and add it.
Complaining that it's not comprehensive is all well and good but really, every time I see a post of yours on these forums you just criticize and don't give a single thing back (anymore). So I have little respect for your attitude, and unless you bring something constructive I'm not gonna bother. But continue to troll away, if it please you.
if you wanna start nitpicking with "were focusing on CURRENT teams", allow me to tell you youre full of ****, since you have added people like bkid, dodo, kebap, who have not been in a competitive game for a long time.
you were obviously focusing on the big or easy names, so stop ****ing bullshitting excuses, woman. holy ****ing ****. dont get mad at me because i tell you big names in your big name wiki, especially when the names are bigger than most of the others, ESPECIALLY when you've been around in hon as long as youve been.
btw ensoe plays witch chu some games and brax is and has always been around. levent is often online recently and plays with hanni.
papadrayich had one of the biggest names in this community not for his team but for his excellent behaviour and team spirit. so lets just forget that guy.
and its only a few, there are so many.
and yeah, this OH NOES A WHOLE WEEK attitude has been growing in gamereplays like a disease, its good you show where you come from. "dont worry next week stream will be fine" (and it isnt") or dont worry next weeks x will be updated before 24hrs have passed (which didnt happen).
and yea no, im not gonna do jack for your garbage and end up doing more than the rest just to keep it at a for the internet normal pace.
I'm going to give you some options here son and just select the options which most cause you this foaming at the mouth, smashing your keyboard, swearing like a boss mad :
A) Think Levent is American
B) Contributed to failreplays.org and got none of the expected acclaim and glory from your sixteen minutes of hard thought out content
C) Can't keep up to date with these new-fangled trolls and their misbehaviour
D) Parents never loved you
E) Don't know who Unsecured is and thus lacking in the competitive insight you hold so close to your heart and treasure as the only thing which can keep you warm and stem the flow of tears as you fap to Testie's stream at night
F) All of the above

It's not like we go through and be like, yes let's add bkid, dodo, kebap, etc (who have all scrimmed and played in tour games recently, btw), and let's exclude xx, xx, and xx. We don't exclude anything on purpose, it's a wiki for goodness sake. There are current holes yes, no excuses, but it will grow; there are hundreds of edits per week.
I'm not even gonna touch your GR hatred with a nine-foot pole, cause I don't really care. Like I said before, for me this is about ease of use and access to information so please don't make this another one of your anti-GR crusades. Just don't use the wiki if it offends you so much.

You sound really mad for someone who does absolutely nothing.if you wanna start nitpicking with "were focusing on CURRENT teams", allow me to tell you youre full of ****, since you have added people like bkid, dodo, kebap, who have not been in a competitive game for a long time.

It's quite simple: you need to understand the purpose of a wiki, because it looks like you don't. We spent a lot of time preparing the wiki, adding templates and structure in which we could put the content. Then we started to add content about the current competitive scene and about things that the editors knew to give the Wiki a "ground" on which everyone could contribute and add things. Because THAT is the point of a wiki: having a database on which everyone can contribute and add things.
There are tons of informations about HoN competitive scene, even though it isn't as big as we all wish it was. We can't possibly add everything at once. Recently, we've been focused on adding the Teams template because it wasn't clear enough and the VoDs part was messy. Now you can easily find the VoDs on the dedicated tab for the teams. Not all the teams have it yet, only, once again, the main current teams, because we have to prioritize. Most of the recent updates on the players pages have been made by the players themselves or other contributors. Such as the ESL qualifier and the Dreamhack qualifier this weekend have been taken care of by contributors, and we thank them for that. That's what a wiki is about: it's a community's job. If you are unhappy because the names you seem to cherish aren't in there yet, you can simply create an account and create those pages. Or you can just go on ranting and trolling here. I don't think anyone really mind because you're just ridiculous.
No one is saying that the wiki is perfect. It has been launched recently and there are tons of things to do and to add; I won't deny it. No one will deny it. You're free to help; everyone is.
