Yay!
So, you put your honmods in the mods folder and launch the ModMan, and what happens? It doesn't see them? An error?
Alright so here's what we've got so far...
ModMan does recognize the Heroes of Newerth.app and creates a "mods" folder in the app. ModMan also still gives the error message whereas it cannot detect the version number (Maybe this is just for specifically updating the mods and thus has nothing to do with whether the mods will work?).
Drag and drop of mods onto ModMan (which is running in mono) doesn't work, so I instead dragged my add-on to the "mods" folder. I hit the "Apply Mods" button and it came up with a "Great Success" box, but displays "0 mods loaded" in the bottom left. I went in game to see if it was working and it wasn't. I remember seeing on my friend's Windows version of the game that he had a little button added to the main page that allowed him to turn on and off add-ons (maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention to what it actually was, but this is what I got out of it). I don't have this box, or at least I can't find it.
Ok, I think any problems besides entering the correct folder for the install are caused by ModMan not knowing how to deal with OSX, so you'll probably have to wait for an update to it.
Edit: Apparently not o.O

I got everything to work. Thanks to all who helped.
The string Deranged used is the correct one.
As for installing mods you have to manually put them into the mod folder in the game file located right-clicking on the HoN app and going to Show Package Contents, click on the game file and there should be a Mods folder in there. Put the mods for ModMan into that file and then refresh ModMan and it should recognize it and let you apply it.
Again thank you and I'll post screeenshots as soon as I can.

Bummerrrrr... Oh well... At least I helped investigate a problem.![]()
Hooray! I'll do my best to have it properly guess the path (which seems kinda fixed on mac anyway) in the next version. I don't think I'll be able to fix the "dragging onto the window"; my guess is it's a Mono thing (might be helpful to have a linux user confirm it not working there either).
As for not being able to recognize the game version, I need to get ahold of a mac HoN binary file and its file name, since that's where I read it from under Windows and Linux and it seems to be the only place its stored.
A quick description on how to install: How I got mine to work.
1: Mono is running and so is ModMan using the string /Applications/Heroes of Newerth.app.
2: Go to the Applications folder and locate HoN. Right click on the image and choose Show Package Contents.
3: It should take you to a folder like this.
4: If you are running ModMan it should have made a Mods folder. Then drag the Mod file into the folder and then refresh. It SHOULD appear in ModMan. If the refresh doesn't work try to restart mono and ModMan.

Good job ss4_link, you solved a complicated problem that will make many people happy.![]()
Very much so, thanks a lot ss4! You dah man! Now I'm going to go and try to get it to work. Only problem now is trying to convert a .zip into a .honmod. If anyone has any suggestions, PLEASE let me know.
Edit: I got it. (Go into "More info" and delete ".zip" from the Name & Extension section)
You rock guys, thanks a lot for your help!!

ss4, I think notausgang is going to add better compatibility for mac users with this done. I'm pretty sure he'll add more descriptive usage information in his thread too.
Alright so how do we go about installing modman in the first place then? Im on a MBP too. Modman is what you need working/installed first before you can download/install mods amirite? In short, im starting from scratch. Where do i begin so i dont **** anything up from the get go?
http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/sh...ad.php?t=25883 < That is the original ModMan file, you would need to download that and then download the latest version of mono (just google it and you should find it.)
Now once that is done install Mono and then open up Terminal (it should be in the applications folder or the Ulitilies folder). Once that is done and you see the string that has your user name type "mono" and then drag and drop the ModMan.exe into the window and it should show the file path. Press enter and it should run, it might take a while to load at first but it will run.
It will ask you to make a path to Heroes of Newerth, at the moment the only way for that to work is to use the string "/Applications/Heroes of Newerth.app" and that has to be put in manually.
After this you should be able to use the screenshot guide from my earlier post to get this all to work. I hope this helped.
ok so im trying this...but im getting errors. first i typed "mono" and then dragged and dropped- it tells me no such file or extension. then i tried typing "mono", hitting enter, then dragging and dropping, and enter- "cannot execute binary file"...any advice?
EDIT****** NEVERMIND! got it!![]()
