Star Wars.
sad to see that you're a bigger nerd than i thought. looks like you weren't just lacking friends in HoN.
Well i left the clan because all you guys ever discussed was getting drunk and doing drugs etc.
I myself have done my best to avoid alcohol and drugs so whenever someone starts talking about it, it makes me mad because sometimes i feel tempted to start drinking alcohol even though i tried my best to stay away from it for so long. I just don't ever want to drink it but i feel pressured to do it a lot.
My parents are probably the biggest reason to why i have such an issue with alcohol.
It's just an issue i'll have to work on. I apologize for being an ass about it before i left the clan.
I know it's such a silly issue but yeah...
Star Wars.
If you cant find anybody that is normal then i think you are looking wrong.
And dont try to be yourself for 100% that is impossible. because you have to change a bit for people to like you. you can be yourself, but change a bit.
Shame on the ones that have wings, but don't use them to fly.

Be a man, act a little fake, and have fun. You won't be young again. Who gives a **** about true feelings, you can save those for when you have your own family, do not stress over your friends or anyone else.
edit: what Thear22 meant is that you have to ADAPT, not change. You can't just be 100% true to yourself if your true personality conflicts with your ability to make friends. Adapt to whichever situation you find yourself in when you're back in school, and seriously, just have fun.

Well i could tell you but i doubt you'd believe me because you don't know me.
But i'm a nice, positive & happy guy. Even if my life has been crap for so long i have remained positive and happy. I am very random as well and i see life in a different way than others which makes me kind of weird but it's also what keeps me positive.
But i doubt they would stop liking me because i'm a little bit odd? I'm the kind of guy you can trust, i don't betray or go behind anyones back no matter what i could get for doing so. I think i'm a great friend so by no means did they have any reason to stop communicating with me.
Like i said i think it's because they've changed, i don't fit with the kind of people they are with now.
I absolutely agree with having fun. Life's too short as they say. But even so i'm not going to start drinking alcohol or do drugs and that stuff, i don't need that to have fun lols. But i'm not going to change myself if it would mean hurting someones feelings or making someone feel like crap or worse.
As long as it's not the end of the world there's no reason to be sad.
That's how i think and even so i am still a bit nervous and worried, i guess it's just normal.

Star Wars.
My friends always try get me to drink. Or at least have 1-2 drinks when (if) i go out.
Though by now I think they realise I'm way too stubborn to change my mind
Though I have been drunk (not very drunk) a couple of times, I haven't had alcohol since I was 17. never tried smoking/drugs either. Besides alcohol and medication. But I'm 21 now, 4 years since I've drank at all, even then it was only a couple drinks.
Good job for not giving in![]()
Try to join a student association, there is always someone in that club that wants to be or can be your friend. Start making friends, don't wait for them to come at you. Take action, step into it and don't be afraid of rejection.
Or just join the study association, there are people in there that are probably doing the same study as you do (if you're going to study), that's already one thing you have in common with them.
Or join zeh army.
It starts with realizing that your friends grew up while you didn't. They didn't turn shitty, they got a sense of humor and fashion.
“You promised me Scout,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
Scout replied,
“The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”
Have any hobbies?
Besides Gaming.
Sports/drama/music etc.
Get involved in some local communities, that force you to meet people face to face. (Judging by your 1st post I take it you're not the most social person)
Start martial arts or something. Good way to keep fit too. I'm sure you could find people there who aren't into getting drunk every day and doing drugs lol.
what the **** is wrong with drinking
drinking =/= getting wasted, you just need to control yourself. I'm not a drinker, but I'm always up for a couple beers with my friends. You DON'T have to get ****ed up
addictions are just excuses people use to justify their retarded actions, anyone who is hooked on alcohol, drugs or whatever will say he has an addiction to take the blame off of him
Does these study associations exist in the schools or is it something outside of school? Maybe they don't even exist in my country?
And regarding the approaching thing. I used to be really shy a few years back but i grown past that. Now i like to talk and i usually approach others instead of waiting. I got really sick of being shy so i decided to pull myself together and just go for it.
One problem i have though. I really like to talk but i never know what to talk about.
You guys have any suggestions on how to start a conversation? I'm guessing "Hi i'm alex" and then maybe ask what tv shows they like, what games they like, what movies etc. Maybe if i find something we both like we can both bond over that and become friends that way.
Well i'm not really into any sports but i love singing. Maybe i could take singing lessons and join a choir.
For now school will be my primary activity of making friends. I mean school is the best way of making friends.

Star Wars.
You are a terrible liar. No one in the clan has mentioned that since that day and I've been online a lot. You can type /dnd and be happy. It is a very silly issue. My guess is you secretly REALLY want to do these things, but would feel such regret that you would hate yourself, so you embark on an internal struggle about it. Seems pretty easy not to drink. Stuff costs money.
So your mad that your friends grew up from being emo social rejects....how hypocritical for you to reject them from your self imposed social circle (albeit in a roundabout way)
Broodje is referring to the fact that most universities allow student organizations. They usually cater to a specific theme such as a specific study or activity. I am unsure of their implementation in Sweden.Does these study associations exist in the schools or is it something outside of school? Maybe they don't even exist in my country?
Thear22 is actually right. You have to get out of your comfort zone to meet people. Your not the social type, which leads me to believe you will never go out and meet new people. So, to this end it is something that must change regardless of being temporary.
Your friends probably stopped being friends with you because lack of communication and a lack of effort on your part. I'm not blaming you, but did you every go up to any of them and ask "hey man you wanna hang out [insert day] and do [blank] like old times?".
Also you seem to be prone to insulting those that disagree with you in an intelligent manner rather than coming up with an intelligible response. This is an extremely annoying quality to have (majority of HoN community does it)
Did that guy say ANYTHING about drinking. No. Stop forcing the issue into everything you talk about and do. Your the one thinking about it at this point. No one here ever said you have to do that to have fun. You need to get over that. I assume your the type to bring that topic up no matter what your doing and it's probably a turn off to people.Quote:

Just 2cents from a guy who wasn't social at all and remained friends/good terms with almost every person he's ever met.
lol "Hope I don't drink".
If you don't want to drink don't drink.
What kind of terrible self-control do you have?
He raged so hard when I brought that up in an intelligent manner. I personally feel getting drunk is a waste of time, but that a drink or 2 (my tolerance is mildly high anyway) can be a positive. More specifically I enjoy a glass of wine when I eat a medium-rare steak, but that makes me a bad person.
My father has drank a few beers almost every night for my entire life (he quits for 6-15 months because 1. it gets boring 2. his body becomes habituated and he refuses to drink more to compensate) and I have /never/ seen him wasted. He plays a damn good bass guitar after 2 beers if I say so myself.
Addiction is a weakness and a sickness. There can also be no argument that I find reasonable enough to tell me that smoking (weed) here or there is unhealthy or bad for you (Alcohol is worse and so are cigs. I've done all the research for various courses). These don't have to be done to have fun.
OP stated in Clan chat that anyone who drinks is a terrible person. Vague generalization that I found insulting. People who get DRUNK, are a bad example of a human (fundamentaly true based on their actions after being drunk, but drinking doesn't make them bad).
Thysios is also correct. Get involved in something. Regardless of if you like the idea of it, you may come to REALLY enjoy it. Such as swimming/music/other events.
Then again don't listen to anything I say. I'm a terrible person that enjoys red win with red meats and doesn't shy away from Vodka/Orange juice (I only have 1 since I don't get drunk).
