I'm super excited about this game as well! Between this and DotA 2 I'm going to have the only 2 games I need for a LONG time.

Arenanet seems to have some of the best artists in the genre. Their designs are really amazing.
GW2 also has a lot of interesting ideas that set it apart form existing MMOs, a lot of which are just gameplay improvements.
In GW2, meeting another player is never a bad experience, because other players can't steal your farm, or ruin what you're doing.
Combat is very active, unlike in other games, where you just push a button to autoattack, or where you spam the same spell over and over again by pushing 1 button, and then you wait for the cast to finish.

Gheez, I love that this is coming but I'll be playing like four games at once. Diablo III is prolly gonna take most of my time, but I wanna try the Star Wars MMO and GW2 and Dota2, prolly play some HoN too.
But I'm happy about most of the things they have announced! "You can definately jump" haha.
Stats are like women in bikinis, they are interesting to look at however they don't show you everything.
Got Rift a few weeks ago. (friends play it)
After a few minutes I was already sick of the combat.
WoW clone much. Right click this enemy, auto attack 10 times. Maybe press 1-2-3-4 over and over.
Want to dodge their attack? Too bad!
GW2, you can actually move out of the way. Run around while casting etc.
First thing I thought when playing WoW. You should be able to do that.
Can't wait for the game. Looks so epic
Exactly. Hack&Slash(y) combat is what people want if they aren't supposed to fall asleep while playing a game.
WoW/Rift/most other current MMORPGs just are too repetitive.
When MMOs finally have combat like games like GoW/DMC/Bayonetta, THEN it will be truly amazing
Although there still is place for games like WoW. Just like games with combat systems like the first Final Fantasies aren't "outdated" today, and can still be enjoyable.

fear not my brother, gw2 wont charge u monthly.
Could play this game. Allthough I don't feel like playing mmorpg's lately, rpg genre is fine, but the grinding/raiding gets me bored very fast.

Okay, I've seen some vids, I'm convinced that it will be a good game, but I'm still not sure I'll buy it. WoW has taken alot of my time, mostly because i felt 'obligued' to play it (because of the pay2play). Even tho GW2 doesn't have this pay2play I still don't want to play it because of the time I have to put into the game to keep on track with gear/skills and stuff.
I guess I should stick to moba/rpg/rts kind of games.
I've also played rift and DC Universe, both pretty good, but the grinding is just the same old ****. Less in DC Universe obviously, but that game gets boring because its unpopular.
I've also seen some vids about the star wars: Old republic, I love the story line of it, but again the grinding and the pay2play keeps bothering me :>.

only thing that worries me is Zhaitan
so far they said dungeons are 5man only, and he's in a dungeon...
it kinda feels wrong to defeat this guy with 5 people.
GW2, Dota2, SWTOR, Zelda: Skyward Sword, Skyrim, Deus Ex 3, BF3, MW3 ++ games i've buying as soon as they come atleast.
stop you right there
SWTOR?
nonono
watch some gameplay, its epic fail
Ill admit I played, and was really not as big as fan of, Factions and Nightfall. But call me crazy this one does look good. Honestly though the whole "There are no set tanks or healers, everyone just survives" idea is kinda iffy to me. I mean it worked in DnD, but that was with saving throws, lots and lots of extra stats, and the players who play DnD generally care about it a LOT. I can't imagine how todays playerbase (Aka the make it easier and easier and easier and easier and easier plz crew) is going to handle that.
P2P isn't any real problem imo. Generally the prices are very manageable and it gives so much more content its usually worth it. I stuck with wow since the gates to Outland opened and tried AION, and Rift, and was on Matrix Online back in the day. Aion and Rift killed me off though, I couldn't get into it... I like playing melee classes, rogues and warriors especially, or tactical casters like WoW's warlock. AION just had too much of a grind but Rift... I could not for the love of me make a difference in the pvp.
but I'm rambling, the reason WoW was able to hold all of our attention spans for so long was they used basically all their resources for storyline and made the game fun, challenging, and you cared when you did a quest chain that affected the storyline (Fordragon, The Younger Saurfang, etc). Now they are recycling old, over used resources again and again, and catering to the masses of "MAKE IT EASIER NAO" ingrates. What I hope for (And every gw game so far has done this right) is simply fun quests that, while there is still a grind, makes the grind enjoyable while not being centered around redundant mechanics.
Also, gw producer dudes, PLZ DON'T EVER NERF THE FIRE!
