i've seen this a couple of times, where Axe and and a partner will skip through the forest inbetween the enemy tower, and he like i dunno wtf he's doing but it rapes my face usually, I just tried to emulate it, but My swiftblade lagged behind me and they nearly killed me!
What is this tactic accomplish usually and what is the proper way to do it?
Reason to do it is: You get every creeps lasthit & your creeps damage the enemy tower/heroes alot.
If the enemies do this, call for help from mid and you can firstblood him easily
Only a viable strat in easy mode, where the tower takes a million years to kill enemy creeps. Just pull the creeps off the tower and run into the forest north of the tower, and the creeps should aggro the tower again, just keep doing this and try to get last hits on the creeps.
It is also a viable strat in non-em games. I think i've seen some DotA league replays where they employ that strategy with Axe, albeit those were just minor leagues, not major leagues. If you want to do it properly, it doesn't depend on you alone. Your lanemate will matter too, you'd most likely want a healer who can keep you alive as you do it.
From my own personal experience, the best allies you can have with you if you want to do such a strat are healers, like Voodoo Jester, Nymphora, Demented Shaman and Jeraziah..I didn't include Ophelia in the list of healers for obvious reasons.
Anyways, the best healer you can have with you for doing such a strat is Nymph..as she has a skill that can constantly replenish her mana..plus that heal also damages the creeps and enemies too.
well, as soon as this axe faces 2 range enemies with a disable he's ****ed up, so this whole thing is pretty much based on luck.
Right..against two ranged enemies with disables/stuns/slows, the strategy is pretty much ruined..preferably you should have a healer ally to help you out with such a strategy..preferably Nymphora..but yeah, if you are up against 2 ranged disablers, then you should opt for another strategy..as most times they can stun/disable you to death, and you'd end up feeding instead of farming.Originally Posted by k1desu
Yeah it can definitely be very effective, I've seen teams lose two towers to this before the team can even do anything about it just because others arn't willing to leave their lanes for fear that they will lose theirs as well.
I don't know why you would have dual melee with no form of disable in a lane anyway, but if it happens you pretty much have to just try and keep them off your towers until help can get there.
Or stick close enough that you can run in and deny creeps off him, but that can get messy if he taunts you alot, but that'll rape his mana pretty quick which might force him to retreat.
Just lane a ranged hero against him, and kill him, we had a pub try to do this against a behemoth/tort lane and we killed him 4 times before he stopped, then he was level1 when the rest of us were 5 and 6

This strat has been used not just in minor leagues and indeed has been used by Ks.int/MyM. It is viable even against a ranged hero provided that Legionnaire has a support with him. What it will not be able to do is stand against three heroes.
Very easy to counter if mid isn't retarded. 3v2 at lvl 1 = axe and partner dead.
Didn't Ks.int run it Trilane though? Axe/CM/Lion

Me and a mate only did it with two lanes(we were Sentinel), them being the top and the mid lane. I was Abaddon and he was Axe. He stomped the top lane while I pulled the mid lane creeps to him. It took a while to do but it was cool.
I've seen it run Tri Axe/'Lock/Enchant and Dual with just Axe/'Lock and Axe/Omni but I can't recall exactly what Ks.Int used in their games.
It was Axe/CM/Lion.
It's easy for Legionairre to destroy top lane (between tower)
I've always skilled his Axe Spin first, buy 2 stout shields (w/e they're called 250g per) and buy Runes of Blight. Heres what you do.
1.) Run between Towers
2.) Attack/Tank their creeps
3.) Spin
4.) Win
If you feel that you might not do so well on your own its always great to get someone who can heal you to come along and uh.. heal you. (Jeraziah, Voodoo Shaman, etc moar Heals)
