I've played over a 1000 games for both (and who knows how many thousands of DotA games).
Technically I played DotA first, but I got into HoN before LoL. Then I got into LoL, decided I didn't like it, and came back to HoN (to wait for DotA 2).
You're probably going to have a hard time finding people that have played both games that much though, most people are fanboys for one game or the other. I'm even better: A fanboy for a game that hasn't been released yet.

I started out with DotA. My cousin invited me to play LoL, and playing a fair bit of that. Then a friend invited me to play HoN(which btw gave me and him a ton of golden coins). I couldn't really refuse, considering it was a damn nice deal.
Then i played a bit of HoN, and went back to LoL. I play HoN from time to time though.
