    Obelisk

    Here are some wallpapers of Obelisk - Model from Terra Online, supplied by Veldt and imported by ReDsKiN.





    All hero/abilities are working!! ReDsKiN and I are just touching up on some cool effects! In due time i will update this thread to have the Hero Draft, Files and Hopefully a better spotlight than Putraiden's =P

    Theme

    The Obelisk is a champion of unfair battle situations. If the odds are uneven, he will even them and literally obliterate everything else.

    Unrelenting Strike

    His attacks deal severe amounts of damage to his enemy and self.
    On attack deals physical damage to enemy units and structures equal to 6/10/14/18% of their current Health and Obelisks suffers 3/5/7/9% of his current health in physical damage.

    Usage:
    Balance: Damage to enemy and self is nonlethal.

    Footman


    Obelisk summons a warrior to charge in a straight line.
    Summons a warrior at target vector location that will charge 800 units in a straight line along the vector, dealing physical damage. On collision with an enemy hero, that hero is picked up and carried along with Footman.

    When the Footman hits a cliff, building, or tree he stops charging and disappears. If he is carrying an enemy hero, that hero is stunned for 1.5 seconds and takes an additional 40/80/120/160 physical damage.

    Last Stand


    Obelisk’s increases his defensive position in the face of overwhelming odds and attempts to one shot his opponent.
    Enter a 1 second immobilized state. The first enemy hero attack or spell cast that impacts you will be countered with a massive attack from Obelisk dealing 15/20/25/30% of Obelisk’s missing Health as physical damage. Adds Last Stand effect to Obelisk.

    Stadium [Ultimate]


    Call upon a stadium where you and chosen opponent battle to the death!
    Summons a stadium in a 475 radius around himself that lasts 6/8/10 seconds. Any enemy who enters or exits the stadium will heal you for 140/185/230 + 6% of Obelisks max health, and granting him Champion of Justice effect a bonus max movement and attack speed for the next 2/2.25/2.5 seconds.

    From the definition of an average? As in, the sum of elements within a set, divided by the amount of elements in that set? Way I see this working, the MM server would receive the elapsed time from every MM group when it's matched, the server sums up the last N received times, and divides it by N. Simple, but it's a rather poor estimate. Example: if the times are distributed evenly around a very low value, say 5 seconds, and another, higher value like 55 seconds, the average time elapsed will be roughly equal to 30 seconds, but it might as well be the least likely one. In that case, 5 sec and 55 sec would be the most common waiting times. In order to get an idea how the values are actually distributed in relation to the mean, you need something like a standard deviation. Basic statistics, really. But I see no point in implementing something like that in MM, there's simply not much use, and it might actually slow MM down slightly.

    1st:
    I would have lowered the damage down to 15% at max level. And this one should be a toggle skill.

    2nd:
    This skill will be a real pain in the a. for enemies ealy game, as it basically allows you to relocate an enemy hero for 800 units in any direction disregarding creep wav while beeing far enough. For example Kraken has to flank an enemy to perform his charge towards his tower.

    3rd:
    Seems fine, however i thought that last stand should be more of a self buff - not a counter skill (well - that's just what i imagine). It will allow to deal some damage later on for sure, however seems too situational - wont it be better to make this skill like add some armor and damage based on str depending on how many health point you lack?

    Ult:
    Is Champion of Justice effect applied if Stadium is cast when an enemy is inside its range already? If yes, then i imagine Obelisk soloing the whole team Also attack speed and movespeed bonuses seem to be a bit too high. Again wont it be better for this skill to work this way: some bonus movespeed and attspd (not the amount it has atm) for every enemy hero inside the Stadium (for the whole duration of the spell), but when an enemy leaves the Stadium - the bonus is discarded and the enemy is slowed by 30% for a couple of seconds?

    All in all - seems to be a semi-late hero, as he wont provide that much assistance in ganking or supporting, however he may succeed as a situational semi-carry (but i'd still prefer someone like Predator or MM).

    Beta testers have suggested toggle for the first skill it's 50/50 ATM. I don't see any harm in adding a toggle version in

    Compared to Kraken's ability he can't follow up with an attack, ability, etc next the enemy - unless he's pulling it towards him or his ally. The action time can be increased but remember the cooldown is HIGH.

    Last stand the name was just a placeholder as for the ability itself it works as intended the buff duration could be reduced and cooldown increased.

    -skipped you need to test it out to get a good feel of how it works -

    Overall Obelisk is patient , high cd, low ms and high cost for abilities (if not i'll make it higher!!) bringing back some re-used mechanics on a different level.

    Yes, the cooldown is high, but imagine yourself being pulled in tower at level 1? And that is not that hard to perform i think. For example Flux moves only for 200 (yeah, the cooldown) and Kraken HAS to position himself right behind an enemy.

    Why not scale the amount of push?

    I can scale the push. If need be i'll give him the same treatment Devourer received for his hook (it's back to 1100 and they removed the return hook).

    Here are the downsides to charging - tree's , buildings and cliffs . if you are next to a tree instead of middle lane it makes things a lot more difficult.

    Use the environment against him or zig-zag it's too easy to dodge and easy to counter with a insta mez, stun, silence, ,etc . The cast action time is 0.9 while that might not seem like much it is! =)

    If you still feel the same way about the ability in practice mode (No good way to test at competitive level) then post again

    I feel as if the Last Stand buff is too long - The appropriate duration of the buff can be 1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds. But need some more feedback

    may be need 0.1 - 0.2 cast time for The footman, cause it is so fast now if casting right behind the enemy

    Last Stand buff is a bit long, may be 1.5 second will be optimal, and should add magic armor as a last stand, for him to tank a spell income

    i believe 400 Attack Speed is too much for a carry type hero, since you can at least force 1 stack by the Footman
    All heroes are op as hell in teaser and spotlight

    I got the other problem =) I almosst coded my hero, but am using Pebbles for his model, as i dunno how to properly import/edit models fo hon.

    Think you could lower it to about 2/2.4/2.8/3.2 or alike (1.5 even for first level is not appropriate i think), as Maliken got something alike on his ulti for 5 econds.

    I've nerfed the duration of last stand.

    I'm keen to increase the cast time from 0.9 to 1.4 for Footman

    As for the range nerf when charging makes his ability completely useless (tested).

    Dont think you are right about the range nerf, as i think that for this hero there are two abilities to level first - Footman and Stand, as imo Strike wont be that uefull early game due to its drawback. That's why you can scale the push range for thiss ability (without increaing the cat time), and i still think that being able to push for 800 on first level is a bit too much.

    Well, i just state what i think - nothing more =) Just something like an open discusion.

    Dont forget that Devo requires a direct line of sight to the target.
    Also Devo has another role ingame, so that brings another aspect to regard when comparing them.

    However, i just noticed (how could have i mised that one?!) that the cat range on first level is 500. That way it should be fine.

    Ultimate heal should be downed severely to 6-10% in my opinion or a fixed static number like 175 at max level. It heals for way to much atm. Also reduce Champion of Justice to a 2 second duration flat.

    It might seem fine in a practice game but remember other team mates can make this spell way to powerful.

    Other than that brilliant spotlight and nice use of the hero model!
