Pebbles Combination - Most Damage Output?

    Hey Folks,

I've known this game for quite long now.
But one question still bugs me -> already a long time actually.
    It's about the Pebbles combination:

Is it supposed to be Stalagmites-Chuck or Chuck-Stalagmites?
Which one deals more damage overall?
I know this was posted once before, but I couldn't find it.

I appreciate a good and soon answer.

    Yours Sincerely

    Gringo

    For max damage its: Stalagmites>Chuck
    For max disable: Chuck>Stalagmites

If you do it perfectly it doesnt matter. If you go stun first u have 0.2 sec (4 frames) to do max dmg. If u go chuck first the time is 0.05s (1 frame) for the max dmg. So stun first is easier.

Pretty sure the answer you're looking for is: Stun(Q) immediately followed by throw(W) to guarantee the most damage. Otherwise delay throw and stun if you want more disable time (less damage).

    edit:
Note that to do it properly you actually have to be in chuck range already or the Stun first combo won't work properly if you're too far Pebbles will waste time walking to the target to chuck and the timing will be off so you won't get the full damage.

tl;dr - Portal Key into the target's face, then Stun(Q) and then throw(W) simultaneously if you want max damage.

^ they gave the answer. stun then throw to make it easier for yourself.

Also, according to element users theory crafting go the following skillbuild:

    1/2/1/2/1/2/2/4/1

    Good luck
A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking.

I'm pretty sure the best COMBO is : Stun first, following 1-2 autoattacks and then Toss .

This is why getting steamboots is good

Absolutely wrong, since the damage is amplified if you stun AND chuck at the same time.

So much facepalm in this thread.

First of all: Maximum disable is stun, wait a while then chuck the target. Always. Always. Always. (you can chuck first but there is NO reason to do this. Ask if you want to know the benefits of stunning first)

Second of all: Stun + Chuck does maximum combo damage.

Third of all: Stun + 1auto + Chuck + 1 auto does way more if you have a DD rune.

Fourth of all: Undutchable suggested skillbuild isn't bad but it only emphazises on the combo damage. And vs any decent opponents you will often have a hard trouble getting in combo range in early game. Therefore you often just want to go for the straight nuke damage with also more AOE damage. (chucking a target on another then stunning both)
1/2/1/2/1/2/1/2/4 is mine and Chus recommended skillbuild. Take it as you want.

Note that to do it properly you actually have to be in chuck range already or the Stun first combo won't work properly if you're too far Pebbles will waste time walking to the target to chuck and the timing will be off so you won't get the full damage.
Wrong. Stunning just outside of Chuck range and then really fast going into range and chucking can do FULL damage. I don't know the exact time but it must be done really fast. Try it in practice.

If distance between you and the target is less than 60 units it does not matter whether you chuck or stun first.

    Other wise Stalagmite -> chuck.

And at some point in game a longer disable duration will lead to more damage.

The only thing I really meant was you can't stun from like 600 range and then expect to get full damage on your combo as obvious as that sounds you'll often run into this for example say when blinking just out of range of a target running away, or blindly into the fog, don't expect to be doing your full damage with stun first if the target is too far for your to catch up before some of the Stalagmite damage has already been taken without the double damage bonus.

Is it wise to attempt to squeeze in an autoattack after portal key'ing in, but before starting the combo? As in: portal key in, attack, (animation cancel into) stag, attack, (animation cancel into) chuck, attack? Or would that be a bad idea, because it would slow you down too much and give opponents a chance to react/get away/get assistance from teammates?

I'm not even sure if clicking Q at the right time cancels attack backswing either.

Just smash Q and W on the keyboard and click on them like crazy. Works every time. Overthinking is for people who are too careful to initiate.

Well.. This might work against low skilled players or maybe heroes who do not have a stun/escapemec. But I would never really do that, the best thing is to be as swift as possible with the combo and then just autoattack him down afterwards.

I wouldn't bother doing this before your combo EVER as like as you mentioned not dumb players will just react, but if you have a good enough attack speed (steamboots+warpcleft/daemonic, and/or spellshards+hellflower), your best combo changes from the portalkey instaburst combo to pkey->stun->(hellflower)->auto attack->chuck into your team or just enemy team for more aoe damage(then auto attack down if you can manage it). especially with higher levels of ulti and negative armor, your auto attack with pebs becomes vErY significant, and delaying your stuns allows you to have higher disable time on your target which usually yields more damage from your teammates helping anyway.

idd, when things get hectic in teamfights as pebbles and you're not sure what to do, resorting to this usually DOES work like a charm lol.. just make sure you aren't that retarded badkid that constantly pkey's in and then stuns the ground hitting no one
