    Accursed's Fire Shield

    Accursed's Fire Shield scales badly into the mid/lategame due to its low damage / protection.

    Here's Fire Shield currently:

    Mana Cost: 100 / 105 / 110 / 115
    Cooldown: 18.0 / 15.0 / 12.0 / 9.0 Seconds
    Activation
    Removes most debuffs, then applies Fire Shield to target for 15 seconds.
    Fire Shield Effects
    110 / 140 / 170 / 200 damage shield. Once full amount is absorbed, damages enemies in 700 radius for 110 / 140 / 170 / 200 Magic damage.

    ========

    Here's what I propose:

    Mana Cost: 100 / 105 / 110 / 115
    Cooldown: 25 Seconds
    Activation
    Removes any damage over time effects, then applies Fire Shield to target for 6 seconds.
    Fire Shield Effects
    Absorbs 50%/70%/90%/90% of incoming damage. After 6 seconds has passed, deals 50%/70%/90%/110% of absorbed damage as magical damage in a 700 radius


    So this will

    • Preserve the nature of the skill; shielding an ally so said ally can explod in enemies' faces
    • Not be OP early game, because it only absorbs/deals % damage. It will only hit you as hard as you hit it
    • Be useful lategame. Want to blinkstrike the support? TOO BAD. Does your carry suck compared to theirs? NOT FOR 6 SECONDS HE DOESN'T

    Would also be cool to have some visual indication as to how much damage the shield has absorbed. Maybe make the spinning shield graphic orbit the target faster, or gradually become more flamey-looking

    Numbers really really need tweaking because 90% is over kill, plus the amount you can take in 6 seconds being reflected at 110%.

    Overly tanky.

    will make him the best tank too.

    Derp, 110% of 2000 is 2200. Also you would have to be stupid enough to actually deal 2000 damage to the shielded person in order to cause such an explosion

    Sorry, but the structure of it would be far too powerful unless you tweaked the numbers so low that it would render the retooling of it irrelevant.

    Heaven forbid that 2 heroes should be able to deal high AoE damage

    Not all nukes have to scale, really. Abbadon uses this early-mid game, mid game more for debuff removal or helping to save a hero trying to scurry away (if he's smart, which few seem to be). Late game, the hero speaks for itself in the way that you build him more than by his nukes. This is the way for a majority of heroes and I think that he's fine as is.

    Decent concept, but puts him in more of an offensive rather than defensive role. I don't like the idea of him not being able to remove hex/holds/etc as a supportive gesture, and being able to shield for six seconds in a way that makes the target practically invulnerable in return. Make it an ultimate skill for a new hero, maybe.

    AHA I LIKE THAT IDEA, this should so be a ultimate for a new hero, or ultimate for accursed...

    It's fine as it is... It is pretty overpowered in lategame: 6 seconds of 90% damage reduction for a carry?

    So first these 6 seconds of invincibility, then get accurseds hp down, then he uses ultimate to get full hp and then he most likely has his shields cooldown ready and then ultimate again. Now this is only the issue of killing accursed and now to the real issue:

    When accursed runs in and people attack him, he will be able to get several THOUSANDS of damage in late game where this damage first is absorbed and then reflected even harder.

    Way too strong as it is; Totally drives Arcane Hide up agaisnt a wall and beats it to death. Other than that Fire Shield is still useful late game because of the fairly low cooldown; any kind of protection for your carry is useful. (Other than that it can dispell debuffs - Succubus' Ulti for example) Not only that but agaisnt an AoE team it basically says a lvl 7 skill can rape you guys at lvl 25.

    the original skill wasn't even close to imba early game, the mana cost of it is way too high for accursed to spam, 6 seconds of invincibility every 25 seconds is always a no

    i agree ive seen an accursed push and take down the first tower between levels 2-3 and then get to 2nd tower at level 4 it was stupid.. we could barely hit him, his shield should be changed but not in the way that you propose i say try making it absorb 70% of damage but dealing out all damage that the shielded person takes instead of the damage absorbed. this way he still maintains the tanking ability and explosion but its not as OP..

    He already has a "DONT ATTACK HIM" ability
    Lets not give him two?

    It doesnt matter how many times you play with numbers, as long as you have it scaling by a %, thats totally stupid and would effectively make accursed worthless, people just stop attacking you if shield OR ult is up, dont bother even readin this people

    I think he's fine right now. Sear and Flame Consumption scale, Cauterize and Flame Shield don't.
